Any one have any thoughts on this one? Looks to me like TAP is the deserving favorite, having run a good one over the track on BC day. But i like Mater Command as well anyone think he can win?

Gauchos0522 11-23-2006 08:58 PM

Looks like Tap will sit about 4th off a pretty solid pace by Bright One, Wanderin Boy, and Master Command so I don't want to use any of the pace setters at least on top. I will use Wanderin Boy because he has gone fast up front and stayed on well but don't think he will win. I think A.P. Arrow has a slight shot at a price but really think if Tap runs his race especially the race he ran in the classic then he should stalk and pounce. Maybe a little Super Frolic action too but he has not been nearly as effective this year.

That horse runs best with Johnny getting him on the lead. So,I think the question is can he do that from the 12 hole with Wanderin Boy in the race?

Sightseek 11-23-2006 09:41 PM

Hopefully Wild Desert at least hits the board...(with Premium Tap & It's No Joke)

Zaf 11-23-2006 09:53 PM

Master Command comes off a strong race at the Meadowlands but seems to need the lead to get the job done, may be tough from that outside spot. I like a horse exiting that same race who can seem to rate a bit better, Wild Desert. This race may set up nicely for him & seems to be rounding into his top 4YO form & has a few races over the track that were acceptable. 3 for 18 lifetime, now or never !

Cajungator26 11-24-2006 08:39 AM

It's hard to dismiss Premium Tap, but I'll take Bright One to win it with Premium Tap and Wanderin Boy to round out the tri.

2Hot4TV 11-24-2006 09:03 AM

I think this race came up extra tough. I have been waiting for Super Frolic to put up that big race and I will take him at long odds to win. Tap looks like the style to win this if Kent keeps him out of trouble.

oracle80 11-24-2006 09:08 AM

Tap is back off a hard race and 20 days rest, no thanks for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like Wild Desert and Super Frolic to get good trips behind the speed and pressers. Those are the two i will be keying, I'll use Tap underneath, but betting chalk off a hard fast race and only 20 days rest is not for me.

todko 11-24-2006 09:27 AM

Irene's Mon at a price -- if Wandering Boy and Bright One burn it could set up well for Tap and Irene's Mon. Tap coming off 3 weeks rest doesn't concern me too much here. A lot of the closers are weak -- Andromeda's Hero, AP whatever, and so forth. Churchill is playing well to speed and it might be tough to catch Bright One and Wandering Boy also.

Trying to cover both scenarios with a tri P/W:

Tap, Mon, Boy, Bright
Tap, Mon, Boy, Bright
Tap, Mon, Boy, Bright, Desert, Command

$48 on the $1. Good luck.

I don't think IRENE'S MON is that much of a stab. Certainly he has never faced top-notch competition, but while this is a grade one race, it still has a grade two flavor to it. He likes the track, he likes to close - enough for me.

I do think there is a significant amount of pace in this race. Is it 22-change pace? Eh, tough call. Sitting the trip should be IT'S NO JOKE. Likes the track, draws more inside and can win going two turns.

Basically, my approach is this race feels like the Stephen Foster. The top horses has some potential question marks so it's a price-hunt for sure.

It's No Joke

wac 11-24-2006 10:15 AM

Then you should like Wiggins. Without the trouble he had in that race he could of been the winner.

A difficult race with a lot of horses each one having one or more questions.

Premium Tap may be coming back on relatively short rest but to me he has been performing several lengths better than these and has proven to be quite the consistent performer this year. Cannot get excited though at the low price he will bring today.
A.P. Arrow might be an upsetter.
Thinking about singling Andromedas Hero third and fourth on a super ticket.

I was thinking the same thing on Andromedas Hero. Good luck!

I realize crazy things seem to happen at Churchill but it looks to me like basically a three horse race between Super Frolic, Wanderin Boy and Premium Tap. I prefer Super Frolic, who's running in the first race he had a chance in for the " potent " Assmussen barn, and should get a great trip and be the squarest price of the real contendors.

Most of these are just WAY too slow.

Kasept 11-24-2006 11:37 AM

From today's Selections..

CD 11th: 132nd Clark H. (Gr. I), $500,000, 3+, 9f (DD)

1. #5 It's No Joke 10-1: Grabbing tab on in form Maker stalker; sits off speed
2. #4 Premium Tap 5-2: Desormeaux (!) back aboard; Classic effort was great
A. #10 Irene's Mon 30-1: Never off board @ Downs; May like stretchout
B. #1 Super Frolic 8-1: Bulleted for new barn and gets pace to chase

LONGSHOT/SUPER ADD: #7 Wiggins 30-1: Typically a cut beneath, but likes CD, trip..

For the pick 3 players out there, all I can say is to go ALL in this race.

Super frolic would be no surprise to me either for the reasons you mentioned.
I don't like Wanderin Boy's chances today to win. He normally must wire the field to win and I just don't see that happening today, although he has clearly been performing at a higher level than most of these.
