Met Mile...Rollo?

WTF?! What an embarassment.

Hell, at least Flightline actually entered.

Why is it an embarrassment?

There were only 9 nominations and the ones that didn't enter the Met Mile were cross-nominated to the True North. I sincerely hope people didn't nominate to the Met not because they were afraid of Flightline.

As it stands, without Life is Good or Olympiad ever looking like they were going to start, Speaker's Corner is the best available horse to test Flightline.

However, when we get these "match race" situations rarely do we actually see the two principals hook up early. One usually stalks the other and the light field ensures that it ends up a cat-and-mouse type scenario rather than a truly run race.

That said, if those two do go at each other's throats early, Happy Saver may be horse enough to capitalize. However, running back on 5 weeks for him is like running back on a 5 days rest for a normal horse. Kind of surprised Pletcher didn't have something with early speed to enter with him. Where is Following Sea?

At least Jack Christopher and Pappacap will renew their rivalry earlier on the card.

Pappacap is due.

I don’t need bigger fields just to get in the way. This one is fine. Sure, it would have been nice to see Jackie’s Warrior stretch out and maybe Jack Christopher too but neither of them were ever likely even considered so this is still a good race.
