IT'S DERBY WEEK with big rewards . . . Extras go here

So not sure who has the win this past Saturday but we are at Churchill for the Kentucky Derby on May 1. Here are the traditional changes in points and ROI wagers:

1. Points awarded are doubled
2. We have a $200 wallet and will accept the Oaks Derby double as one of you four wager
3. An extra 15 pts awarded if you pick the Derby straight trifecta
4. An extra 10 pts awarded if you pick the last place horse
5. An extra 5 pts awarded for the guess on the lengths back the last place horse is from the winner

POST ALL THESE EXTRAS HERE in the following order please.

1: Straight trifecta
2: Last Place horse
3: Lengths back for last place horse

Thank you and enjoy Derby Week and the Derby!!!

I am going to go out on a limb and say no one will hit that straight trifecta. Even if you made it a 3 horse box, it would still be very difficult. I think last year the two betting favorites came in 1,2, but that 3rd place horse was very long odds. I think the 50 cent tri was about a thousand dollars, if memory serves. I hit a straight tri once in the Preakness for a buck the year that Rachel Alexandra won and Mine that Bird came in 2nd, but that was a much smaller field than the Derby. That was the only time I ever hit a straight tri and if I had only known, of course I would have loaded up an 18 wheeler full of money on it.:zz:

Yes, I think it's a roll of the dice year picking a winner on top and any others for and exacta or tri, or just picking the winner. I don't see any predominant favorite. Post position may help some, I'm not sure weather is a plus or minus. Maybe it's the year of a mild or real longshot???

Twin Spires runs a contest on their wagering platform and yesterday it used Race 1 at Belmont. The goal was to select the trifecta in order. The field scratched down to only 4. The favorite was 1-5 and looked like it on paper and won as she should have. Despite all of that I failed to pick the winning tri as my second place pick lost a lot of ground due to a poor start, not advisable for a 5 furlong race.:( If I can't pick a tri in a 4 horse field with an odds on slam dunk favorite, I don't have a chance with a 20 horse Derby field with many question marks. [But I'll take a stab anyway]

Alli the two are independent picks, the horse and the lengths have nothing to do with the horse although they could. No one picked the horse, Soup and Sandwich (no extra points) and I edged you out on the last place horse lengths behind the winner. He was 64 (hard to believe) and I had 36 behind vs your 35. Sorry :(
