#7 goes down w/rosario aand no call chart says injured vanned off dino mention of jockey rosario, peter miller trainer. replay edited out the fall

OK, I'm not a Stornach Group defender by any means, but what's the point? A simple perusal of the charts shows Rosario rode the rest of the day. The chart mentioned the incident. I'm confused.

of course the fall is edited out. why show a horse falling or breaking down on replay. makes no sense. it's sad to see, and worse to see on replay.

The point is that both Imbrial,(sp)and Durkins calls called a horse going down and the jock who rode updated later by maggie ; but i'm not telling you what you already know. it was the eddie logan stakes.

Not personally on-board that the right discussion point is Johnny I. vs. Tom vs. Maggie. Like any sports call, what happened in the moment?

Saw the Eddie Read in real time and held my breath when Rosario's mount went down. In the moment, I was surprised that the fall was not acknowledged, but was more surprised that the "tone" of Frank's stretch call never waivered - even mentioned it here at home.

The racecall emphasis was still on the front end with Cathkin Peak on the attack behind Commander Khai. Even, Beer Can Man was called twice in the aftermath. Ebeko was the favorite (5-2) and surely you had to be aware of where this nice two year old was in the field.

I might be completed wrong here, but as a fan, I think Frank actually missed the fall when it happened. I have heard him call race mishaps and his pacing does usually change.

agree w/you. only 7 horse field.and wondered if peta influenced the type of thing, like donot semphasiize the negatiive to it . like the chart says injured . .vanned off - not d fell in stretch, dnf.

My guess is Frank missed it which is why he didn’t say anything. I highly doubt PETA has anything to do with what an announcers says it doesn’t say.

Much ado about nothing

If you are going to say ridiculous west coast paranoid things, at least spell them correctly.

The funniest part, of course, is all the people who disagreed with the contention in the OP are East Coast people.

It's spelled site, not sight.

Oddly enough, I thought he did mean "sight" when I read it. As in, 'an East Coast sight bias', which I took to mean people on the West Coast have better peripheral vision! ("The [East Coast] announcer didn’t see it as the horse was way back.")

I'll have to admit that your reading of it makes more sense! I have to remember to cite it.

Frank is not an "East Coast" announcer. He grew up in LA and worked in CA to begin his career.
