8/13: Saratoga (Union Avenue; 6th-10)

SARATOGA

POST-SCRATCHES

6th: OC/N2X, F&M-3+, 9f (P5, P3, DD)

Quintet of interestingly matched fillies and mares with 1-1 (#1 Off Topic) & 6-5 (#5 Risky Mandate) faves that aren't all that much better than rest which includes streaking on/near type Foxtail who looks for a 3rd meet win. With Risky Mandate making two turn debut, expect her to be forward and pace could be surprisingly honest despite the small field. Junior Alvarado reunites with 10-1 Indy Union who looks like the right price to tinker with making one late run..

Most Likely: #1 Risky Mandate 6-5 2nd
Best Value: #3 Indy Union 10-1 4th
Next Best: #5 Off Topic 1-1 5th

7th: NY-MSW, 2yo-F, 5.5f-T (P4, P3, DD)

Thin White Duke continues to nibble, find trouble and get beat as a fave. Hope today is the day for Steve Crist to get his first ever win as an owner..

Best Value: #7 Daggerboard 6-1 9th
Next Best: #2 Thin White Duke 5-2 2nd
Exotics Use: #10 Chulainn 7-2 6th
Super Add: #3 It's a Gamble 6-1 WON ($18.60)

8th: S/ALW, 3+, 8.5f-Inner (P3, DD)

Competitive starter set, but with the addition of Saez, Turn of Events SCR'D looks like a wire job in the making..

Best Value: #1 Quiet Out East 6-1 6th
Next Best: #5 Battalion Late SCR
Exotics Use: #6 Bray 5-2 WON ($5.60)
Super Add: #3 Mandate 2-1 2nd

9th: Union Avenue-NY, F&M-4+, 7f (DD)

Expect Ratajkowski & fresh Carrera Cat to hook up giving Mrs. Orb, Newly Minted and ATR house favorite Collegeville Girl their chances from near and off the pace..

Most Likely: #3 Mrs. Orb 6-1 2nd
Next Best: #1 Ratajkowski 6-5 5th
Best Value: #4 Collegeville Girl 15-1 4th
Exotics Use: #6 Newly Minted 7-5 WON ($6.20)

10th: MSW-NY, F&M-3+, 1m-Inner

If Crist and partner Ken de Regt don't break through in the 7th, they can here with Vivazano (Verrazano) whose dam Viva Malala got both of her 2 career wins on the lawn. On top the dam's merits (she's a half to Ichabad Crane), sire Verrazano gets grass runners. Dancing Kiki is 0/10 but has been much more competitive since switching surfaces..

Best Value: #1 Dancing Kiki 8-1 2nd
Next Best: #3 Vivazano 6-1 3rd
Exotics Use: #10 Data Analytics 9-2 WON ($11.00)
Super Add: #7 Chocolate Cookie 4-1 7th

P5 Grid:

9: 1-3 (A), 4 (B), 6 (C)

Simple (A+B): 3x3x2x3x3 = 162 x .50 = $81
All A's: 1x3x2x2x3 = 36 x .50 = $18

P4 Grid:

7: 2-7-10 (A), - (B), 3-9 (C)
8: 1-5/SCR (A), - (B), 3-6 (C)
9: 1-3 (A), 4-6 (B), - (C)

You can say that again. I’d love to have a crystal ball to figure out who is going to send now.

Good luck Steve. I feel like there could be some real prices today.

Nobody has any real speed or lead interests. Really wanted to lean on Turn/Events in the sequence. Saez a natural for him.

Thx Moishe. U2. Seems like it could go either way. There are some legit-looking low prices that need beating. Tomorrow's card looks very good.

I actually like Hennig's horse Mitzrayim a little bit as a possibility for that now. He's not super fast but has flashed some speed and has shown some versatility. Not sure if the horse is good enough...but at 15-1, the price could be right.

I haven't looked at tomorrow's card yet. I'll have to check it out.
