I know you got one race left old gal....but thanks for the memories....you will be sorely missed and you are dearly loved.

Yeah, she's terrific.

I'm not much of a sentimentalist but I clapped for her Saturday. We need more like her.

Andy...you know as well as anyone how much I love English Channel....but I swear to you I got goose bumps and my eyes began to water watching her win....

They don't make 'em like her anymore. Pretty much the definition of class.

Joey...she is one of those that you never hear anything negative about. Done everything that was ever asked of her. You don't have to love her, but for anyone that can't appreciate what she has accomplished...they have ZERO clue about horse racing and have no right to call themselves a fan of the sport.

It's pretty amazing when you think about it. She was pretty much retired midway through 2005. She came back and beat a garbage field. Many people, myself included, wrote her off in the 2005 BC. She ran a very terrific second. Then she comes back this year ( and even later last year ) with a vengance and has a GREAT season, with her only subpar finish being completely due to a poor trip/ride, and then dominates the BC again.

She's more than a throwback and, as Watchmaker said in his column in tomorrow's DRF, the kind of horse for which the Hall of Fame was created.

I looked at a friend sitting next to me on Saturday and asked him how anyone on the world could bet any other horse but her in the F&M Turf. 6/5 was a gift as I thought she towered over that field by a mile.

Wait a While was scary, but she was hit or miss. You knew you were going to get a huge run from OB.

WAW beating Lady of Venice, Dancing Edie, etc....

vs.

OB beating Alexander Goldrun, Electrocustionist...2nd behind Shirroco...

No way in heck could I even think about WAW....

I know that is easy to say after the fact Joey...but I just thought OB was tons the best. The thought of using another horse in the F&M Turf on my early Pick 4 ticket never crossed my mind.

Wish there were more like her, what a great horse, I am glad I got to see her run in Texas...That must have been cool to have everyone clap for her, she more than deserved it...
