BC Ratings down 50% but.....
 

Boy ratings took a hit but I guess ESPN is trying to reach out through the web where they say they had a 68% increase from last year. The story is in bloodhorse and here is the link.

some people believe it or not dont have cable..and espn im told is not in canada..

You can watch nearly the entire telecast on their website. Including Mayne's hysterical take on Horse Breeding.

Pretty pathetic that four times as many people watched college football games that had absolutely no bearing on the national championship and that almost twice as many watched a golf tournament that didn't even include Tiger Woods.

all sports are down. look at the world series ratings.

DIdnt MNF take a big hit when it went from ABC to ESPN?

seems most formerly 'big' events are taking a hit ratings-wise. handle is up tho, so i think it evens itself out. i'd be more worried if handle was down than ratings.

it doesnt surprise me at all.....i thought the actual coverage was lackluster at best.....hopefully they can iron some things out before the 3year old prep season starts.

the move to a cable network is why the BC ratings are so 'low.'

this was a given.

a lot of ppl simply dont have ESPN(cable or dish).

besides that,
ESPN did a completely horrible job of covering the event(as anyone who has watched their weeknd telecasts of other racing would know).

I dvr'd ESPN's coverage.
watched TVG on Saturday and just flipped over to ESPN when they started to load the gate.

watched ESPN's coverage today(took off of work) and it was just plain bad.

speaking of television coverage.
did anyone see what Tom Amoss said about Jara's language skills on TVG's BC wrap up show?
completely classless and not funny at all.
its one thing to make fun of someone when its actually funny(like Charles Barkely does) but Tom was way off on that one.
