Ouiji On The Dirt?
Can't understand why they never tried her on the dirt. Sure its not like a sire in terms of breeding, but she is an awesome animal. She could've gone in the distaff one of these years and run well. Wish I had seen it.

I'm just very thankful that they've kept her around for so long. This is one classy mare and I look for nothing less than a win on Saturday!

Why run arguably the best grass horse/filly in the world on the dirt? She isn't going to be a stallion.
Grass is a lot easier on a horse/filly than the dirt. That is probably why she will be racing for the 3rd time in 5 weeks. |

She is all turf breeding anyway. |

She'll end her career in Hong Kong in December..... |

This summer she finished second to Shirocco, beat Electrocutionist, and then was beaten by David Junior in 3 races over 5 weeks. She even came back 4 weeks later to beat Alexander Goldrun. |

Maybe instead of spending your lunch break at OTB tomorrow you can spellcheck my posts for me. |
I read somewhere that her or the other female Gorella had trained on the dirt and couldn't run a lick on it.

I just dont see any reason at all to try dirt.
there is not much to this filly and her action suggests that she is much more likely to only act on turf. she would certainly rather run 10 or 11f than the 9f of the Distaff, so thats a negative. the Distaff and the FMT are worth the same amount of purse money. nothing about the pedigree suggests dirt. I say keep her on her natural surface unless you were going to try the Classic or DWC. Repent |
Ouija Board is owned by Lord Derby, very much a traditionalist who regards dirt racing as something of anathema. That is the reason OB has/will never be tried on any surface other than turf.
|
if it isn't broke.....
it's a shame that a good, no, outstanding turf horse is still found to be lacking if he/she hasn't run on the dirt. euros are turfers, it's their 'dirt'. we can't use our dirt is tops philosophy when judging euro stars. |
