Saratoga Monday Aug. 7th

Race 1:
#7 Open Bar: Ignore the turf try last out and he's run five credible races this year, including three in this class. In two of those he ran third behind winners and runners-up who scored in their next start. Bigger price than he should be because of the connections.
#2 Hay Listen Up: Heavily squeezed at the start here less than two weeks ago.
#1 Shine Bright: Much improved sprinting and with Lasix. Bug has been riding well in MD.
#6 Rossie Val

Race 2:
#12 Emerald Quality: Pulled out at the top of the stretch and looked like she was going to blow by but instead hit a brick wall. They came home in a ridiculous time and should be a bit sharper with the shades on.
#3 Bitteroot: In all three of his routes she's loomed dangerously at the 6f but wasn't able to sustain that. Her lone sprint try was against tougher than this. Lerman adds Lasix and has her ready to blow up the tote.
#2 Majestic Miss: Servis has started the meet strongly and she'll be in a prime spot in the stretch.
#8 Quanique: Lost a bob in an identical race last year, then ran 3rd at odds-on for the same tag at BEL. Ignore the two dirt tries, and her last as a prep wasn't that bad. Looks an overlay if she can find her 3yo form.

Race 3:
#1 Private Client: Bred to run all day, so no surprise her two wins have come at 11f and 12f.
#3 Grateful: Improving 3yo has the vital pace card, but just wonder if she wants a full 12f.
#5 Queen Blossom

Race 4:
#8 Javelin: Deserved fav.
#7 Likeitlikethat: Best races came without blinkers.
#5 River Deep
#3 Mohican

Race 5:
#1/1A Dubb Entry: Prefer the latter part.
#7 Motown Sound: Less speed to run at with the SCRs but has shown he can compete with these.
#2 Match Up: Think he prefers one-turn but can hang on for a slice.

Race 6:
#2 Barely Impazible: Good luck seeing 7-2 odds.

Race 7:
Let's use all five...

Race 8:
#9 Never Hungover
#5 Bluegrass Jamboree
#7 Shimmering Moon
#6 Grassarla

Race 9:
#3 Photographer: Bred to route. Proctor won with all 5 of his 3yo starters in turf routes at the Spa last year. Ran 4th at 20-1 with his lone try at this meet.
#9 Dream Passage
#5 Smart and Sassy
#12 Piquet

14 second final 1/8th and I can't get that 7 up for a $4.5k score. Symbolic of my meet so far.

Believe you are correct. He had the winners of all 9 races somewhere in his selections. Cheated a little with all in one leg but nice handicapping job Kitan.

Kitan 08-09-2017 06:12 AM

Thanks casp, Steve, Gus, ADJMK...that's the next week's vacation paid for!

OTO, I didn't put the 2 in the last leg into the early P5 as I didn't think he would hold on at 9f but had space to add him to the P4. If the 7 had run him down then I would have hit all three...
