Saratoga Sunday Aug. 6th

No late P4 for me today...

Race 1:
#3 I Stand Alone: With so many questions surrounding the others I'll take a flyer with this one. Other than two back when he didn't have a great start his sprint tries this year have been decent enough and breezed quickly over the surface last week.

Race 2:
#6 Emmport: Long string of works, including one over this course.
#5 Golden Orb: 30k RNA as a yearling sold for 10x that in March. Some turf further back in the family but Clement does well with 2yo FTS in turf routes.
#8 Reality Queen: Should improve switching surfaces.
#11 You People
The two ML favs (#2 and #4) both had a two week break between their final works for this...#2 had something similar before debuting but that was a 6f race...

Race 3:
#4 Conquest Windycity: 8-1 ML off his first three starts for this barn would have been an incredible overlay. Was in against tougher last time but may just not have liked the quirky Iowa surface.
#6 Rally Cry: Lone two-turn race was arguably his worst performance in his career.
#3 Mo Tom: Maybe he finally started to put it together again last out.

Race 4:
#7 Hoboe: Had a wider trip than #5 who snuck up the rail last time.
#5 Appealing Briefs
#2 Summer Mischief
#10 Follow the Signs

Race 5:
#4 Sister Sophia: Chad Brown excellent off extended layoffs, and his former assistant should know how to use those tools to get this one ready.
#8 Another Genius: Jose lands here but she needs to have improved from 3 to 4.
#1 Startwithsilver: Money burner.
#2 Cozzy Spring: Question if form will transfer to the grass.

Race 6:
#4 Honey Graeme: Average sales work but this doesn't appear to be the strongest field. Dam won debut and was stakes placed as a 2yo, and all four sibs ran ITM on debut. Her best works have come from the gate.
#7 Smarty Smart
#5 Desert Honeys
#9 Mockery

Race 7:
#6 Legal Precedent: Like the first, questions to be asked of many in here. This one looks to have some fight in him, finishing ITM in 8 of 10 tries, and the price should be right.

$0.60 Pick Five
Race 1: 3
Race 2: 5, 6, 8, 11
Race 3: 4, 6
Race 4: 2, 5, 7
Race 5: 4, 8
$28.80

$0.60 Early Pick Four
Race 2: 5, 6, 8, 11
Race 3: 3, 4, 6
Race 4: 2, 5, 7
Race 5: 1, 2, 4, 8
$86.40

Good luck!

During the pre-race prattle, Gabby Gaudet discussed the chances of every horse in the field with the exception of I Stand Alone, a 7yo gelding, trained by her sister, Lacey Gaudet.

I've noticed the same before, when Maggie doesn't talk about a Morley trained horse who wins or runs dead last. Andy said in the paddock "let's talk about the other horses not trained by Gaudet," so I wasn't too worried about that.

Really poor ticket structure to get beaten in the last leg. Had liked the 7 but best races had come with some give in the ground...
