5/29: Belmont Park ~ NY Showcase (3rd-10th)

BELMONT PARK

POST-SCRATCHES

1st/5th OFF THE TURF

3rd: NY-MSW, 3+, 6.5f (P3, DD)

Hadn't intended to look at this, but how about Peter Eurton showing up with Giant Expectations for his 4yo debut against own kind? Frost Giant OBS March purchase had the misfortune of finding Arrogate 6/5/16 at Santa Anita when 3yo Champion broke his maiden. Posted a 90 Beyer that day when 2nd beaten 4.5L's..

Most Likely: #7 Giant Expectations 7-5 WON ($3.10)
Best Value: #1 Bobby Fab 6-1 5th
Next Best: #8 Pirate's Treasure 7-2 2nd
Exotics Use: #3 Classi Cat 15-1 6th

4th: 39th Mount Vernon-NY, F&M-3+, 1m-T (P3, DD)

Chad Brown trifecta in the offing here with top troika all returning for seasonal debuts. Ack Naughty is longest price going in and without a lot of speed signed on, might be best suited for scenario while teamed with Rosario..

Best Value: #2 Ack Naughty 6-1 2nd
Next Best: #7 Ancient Secret 5-2 4th
Exotics Use: #5 Fourstar Crook 2-1 WON ($4.40)
Super Add: #1 Louisville First 12-1 6th

5th: MCLM/$40k-NY, F&M-3+, 8.5f-OFF THE TURF (P6, P3, DD)

OFF THE TURF: 9 WON ($3.70)-2 (2nd)-3 (3rd)

6th:4th Critical Eye-NY, F&M-3+, 1m (G/S, P3, DD)

Most Likely: #11 Kathryn the Wise 2-1 WON ($3.30)
Best Value: #3 Jules and Rome 8-1 10th
Next Best: #5 Picco Uno 4-1 6th
Exotics Use: #8 Bee Noteworthy 12-1 3rd

7th: 38th Mike Lee-NY, 3yo, 7f (P4, P3, DD)

First leg of the Big Apple Triple (New York Derby-FL, Albany-SAR) and showcase for excellent group of state bred sophomores. First order of business is decision on whether Syndergaard and Bobby On Fleek snap back from disasterous trips to Kentucky. T Loves a Fight (5-1 and may float up) has risen through the ranks for Hushion and with so much pace signed on, figures to be the late runner that picks them off late..

Most Likely: #1 T Loves a Fight 5-1 WON ($5.70)
Best Value: #4 Terry O Geri 12-1 6th
Next Best: #8 Sal the Turtle 10-1 5th
Exotics Use: #10 Pat On the Back 20-1 3rd

8th: 5th Commentator-NY, 3+, 1m (P3, DD)

Outstanding edition of this with countless ways to go including any number of inflated prices. Weekend Hideaway is defending winner ($3.90-1) and looks every bit as eligible here while starting the bidding at 6-1. Diversify is the horse to beat but won't get away with anything easy up front. Gypsum Johnny has gotten better and better for consistently lucky Rice & Miuccio and could draft along outside at boxcar number. Hit It Once More makes 4yo debut in challenging spot, but can factor with natural 3 to 4 improvement..

Most Likely: #8 Weekend Hideaway 6-1 WON ($14.60)
Next Best: #5 Diversify 5-2 2nd
Best Value: #11 Gypsum Johnny 20-1 4th
Exotics Use: #4 Hit It Once More 8-1 8th

9th: 39th Kingston-NY, 3+, 1m-T (DD)

Most Likely: #8 Offering Plan 4-1 WON ($6.30)
Best Value: #10 Kharafa 5-1 4th
Next Best: #1 Macagone 2-1 6th
Exotics Use: #5 King Kreesa 8-1 2nd

10th: 40th Bouwerie-NY, 3yo-F, 7f

Most Likely: #7 North End 4-1 7th
Next Best: #8 Holiday Disguise 7-2 WON ($8.10)
Exotics Use: #3 Bluegrass Flag 3-1 6th
Super Add: #1 Swing and Sway 6-1 8th

P4 Grid:

7: 1 (A), - (B), 4-6-8-10 (C)
8: 5-8-11 (A), 4-6-9-10 (B), - (C)
9: 8-10 (A), 1-5 (B), 2 (C)
10: 3-7-8 (A), 1-4-9 (B), 11 (C)

Simple (A+B): 1x6x5x6 = 150 x .50 = $75
All A's: 1x3x2x3 = $18 ($9 for .50)

$1 Pick-4 (1/8/3,8,9/8) Paid $464.50 ($232.25 for .50)

Good luck!
Steve

Great capping job today. I had made up a small P4 singling Weekend Hideaway and Offering Plan and when I saw you had them on top too, I bet my last few bucks in the account and ended up with a pretty nice payout. Hope you bet a P6 ticket. I think you would have scored with a small all "A" ticket .

THX A.. Good work on the singles! Hideaway was key to everything. These state bred days in NY are typically quite formful with maybe one or two prices. This was a very nice multi result considering the winners involved. I thought Sunday about a P6 watching the nightcap for a carryover but didn't give it serious consideration.
