Does he really want to be President?

So...all politics aside for a minute..I really have to wonder if he is like...Holy Crap..What have I gotten myself into?? Do I really want to deal with all that crap for 4 years? My life as I know it is done...And it really seemed like a good idea 18 months ago..but...

I think that he has probably had those thoughts quite a bit. But by the same token, he hates to lose, and he has come this far. He is going to try as hard as he can to win. But I'm sure in the back of his mind he is thinking, "If I do end up losing I will have my life back and I won't have to deal with this crap any more."

All politics aside, as you said, I think the motivation was what he said on the day he made the announcement, along the lines of "Fine. I'll do it myself." In other words, he probably would not have considered a run if candidates he liked were winning, and if the country were not moving consistently in what he felt was the wrong direction.

Politics had not been his first calling up to this point in his life, so I'd imagine that a billionaire real estate and construction mogul would be doing other endeavors if he didn't think there was a need for his involvement.

no.
he wanted to win, to have a title. but be president? no, that's why he said the vp he chose would be the most powerful one in the history of the u.s. because they'd be the one doing all the work.

Well, at least he doesn't want to be crowned queen, and is actually campaigning. But he doesn't have the press carrying his water, so he has to campaign.
