both might have to do some running to be stellar wind

Secretriat34 09-26-2016 01:50 PM

the distaff might be the best race of the BC

Secretriat34 09-26-2016 01:56 PM

It seems as if the distaffers might have a better race run in the BCD than the horses in the BCC...without making to much of a wild stab..it seems a foregone conclusion that Chrome will win the BCC and off his DWC score and the BCC score he would be the HOY..

could it be possible to have a dead heat for the HOY in 2016..

one for Chrome, and another for the winner of the better race, the distaff ?

Thunder Gulch 09-26-2016 02:18 PM

If Chrome wins the Classic, he is the clear HOY. If he doesn't then the results of the Breeders Cup may change things. Chrome could still win, but if Frosted won the Classic, he would have a shot.

If neither won, they may look to a Distaffer, but I would look at Tepin if she defends that BC Mile. Winning at Axcot makes her undefeated campaign truly historic. IMO Tepin's work is superior to Songbird's amazing campaign in the 3yo filly division.

Secretriat34 09-26-2016 02:22 PM

those are all good points..

the fillies and mares are deep..and the colts seem "tired"

Chrome dusted frosted in dubai..and every other time

Secretriat34 09-26-2016 02:23 PM

my BCD / BCC daily double 2016

all the fillies and mares // chrome....$14

taxicab 09-26-2016 08:16 PM

I kind of think Beholder has lost a step,so I'll try to beat her.
But man,her 13 for 14 lifetime record at Santa Anita is just amazing.

Enola got a dumb passed ride last out, but yeah, I expected more.

Plum Pretty though? Granted Songbird might be a tad overrated, but to say Plum is better is ridiculous.

FATPIANO 09-27-2016 12:52 PM

let's be fair and real, Beholder is the Queen, and has been since age 2, her loss to Stellar Wind, was just that, a loss against a better horse that day, and she will win the rematch with Stellar Wind, as far as Songbird, my money is still on Beholder, she is still The Queen, Long live The Queen!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thunder Gulch 09-27-2016 03:14 PM

If it was anywhere other than Santa Anita, I'd be more inclined to take a shot against Beholder. If Songbird was to go beat her out there, it would push an already great campaign into the stratosphere.

Is a win in the BCD better than a place in the BCC ?

probably, they dont talk about the place horses to often historically.

Secretriat34 09-29-2016 08:49 AM

The budding rivalry between champions Beholder
and Stellar Wind will see its third round in the
$300,000 Zenyatta Stakes (gr. I),

trainer John Sadler is enthusiastic for his two-time grade I winner to again
take on Beholder, who could win the Zenyatta an
unprecedented fourth time.

Beholder equaled therace's namesake and 2010 Horse of the Year with a
third consecutive victory last year. Zenyatta won the
race in 2008, 2009, and 2010 when it was called the
Lady's Secret Stakes.

The pair will likely face off again in the Longines
Breeders' Cup Distaff (gr. I), where they should
encounter another champion in Songbird.

Thunder Gulch 10-03-2016 09:56 AM

That was quite the performance by Stellar Wind. Has Behloder lost a step? Stellar Wind has never been better, but count me as very surprised she went by Beholder and then fought her off.

The Distaff really does look like a tremendous race. I'm guessing Songbird will now be a slight favorite. On paper, she hasn't run as fast as these two, but I don't know if we have seen her best. Can't wait to find out.

I wonder if you replaced Beholder on the front end with Songbird how that race ends, maybe we will see. I saw them saying Gary did not want to be on the front end, which is strange, guess that makes the BC pretty interesting from a pace standpoint.
