trump and nato
|
Much to do about nothing in my opinion, I think most Americans are frustrated with the willingness of our allies to let us foot the bill for their defense. American money and blood should not be taken for granted and I think Trump is within his right to address the issue...if our "friends" are a bit nervous that's not a bad thing, pony up and do your share in your own defense. Trump will take a step back I suspect but he's not wrong here...just a reminder that fair is fair.

got home from work, and decided to do some searching on nato, funding, etc. thought this was a good read on defense, spending, etc. and yes, other countries do count on us. we do project our might around the world. but I remember when Obama said something about a red line and Syria. I said then, and since, you NEVER let anyone else know what you're thinking, especially militarily. I don't like trump suggesting that the nato alliance isn't airtight. it has to be airtight. do we win the cold war without nato? how many other conflagrations have been avoided because nato exists? |
well even with our help France can't defend itself.

War vs terror is by no means a conventional war. |
