Probably John.

John and Jason are both trainers to always be aware of. Jason is based in NY and has been regular at NYRA for years. John is based at Parx. Both are very adept and place their horses well.

I do think that John Servis is a very talented trainer that is more than very adept and places his horses well which he proved when he was given the chance to train a very talented horse. I think like a number of trainers he has the talent to train better stock than he has been given. No knock on Jason either who is a very good trainer. Either are capable of having live horses for Saratoga. |

I had PA Bred horses at Parx years ago and had Bob Camac train for me. He used to tell me John Servis was a good trainer. When Bob got killed I went to see John about taking mine and he was full because he took some of Bob's clients. I've known John for years. Good trainer. Jason is great also. I've won much more money on him.
Good guys also. Good horses make good trainers. Bob told me that and many others have said it. |

Jason Servis at SAR
2015: 26/3-6-4 2014: 23/3-1-3 2013: 32/6-5-1 |
I think those are pretty solid stats. I know I give an extra look to Jason's horses when he ships to MON or PARX, usually well meant and spotted. John is similar when he ships to NY, usually well spotted and meant.
With bigger operations and shipping now we often forget it was a big deal for a trainer to ship a horse for a race years ago. Usually they were well meant because it was an extra-ordinary effort. They mostly looked in their home condition book. |
His 2013 stats are great.
For the year he was top 5 by win percentage. 25% clip. These three trainers are similar in results for the year. The only difference really is the amount of runners. In order... Hollendorfer Amoss Servis You could trade stable sizes every year and there probably wouldn't be much variance in results. |
