Race 12 Inordinate DQ
Has someone been able to explain the DQ in race 12? The supposedly bothered horse didn't seem like he was going to win anyway as he never really lost stride down the stretch. A seemingly ridiculous DQ, no?

What would pick 4 have paid if inconsistent blind bel stewards didn't have their heads up their asses again ?

I was wondering why Ortiz claimed foul?

The amount of $$$ that DQ cost me was substantial.....I am glad the opinion I had is sane as I thought perhaps it was my vested interest in that outcome that was swaying my thoughts.

I had Inordinate in a wager BUT i agree with the DQ. That number 1 was not going to win but it definetley cost him a placing for 3 or 4th losing out by a head. He was pushed wide and that was probably the difference between coming in 4th and coming in 5th.

Had to be awkward for Chad Brown and his two sets of owners in the winner's circle, as they awaited the decision.
|
Rare that agreement on a DQ be so uniform. Everyone at track and elsewhere disgusted.

The top 5 finishers were separated by less than a length. He certainly wasn't going to win. It is pretty precise to say that it cost him a placing.
Meanwhile Star Hill gets herded off the screen of the head on replay in the 7th (literally) and they don't even peek at it. Just seemed very innocuous in a race where they all seemed bunched. |

It's not your fault, as it's actually a fair point, but it made me laugh imagining those actual separate owners ( neither were there ) being in the Winner's Circle together. |

A $60k purse pays for a year's worth of expenses, and puts your horse in a profitable position for the rest if the year. Obviously, Chad had Inordinate torqued for that race and they found a perfect spot, with Javy on board. These types of opportunities are not abundant. Hope they can find another one soon. |
I'm dying here.

It was one of the worst Ive ever seen. Especially since Javy gets away with murder on a daily basis. Roman Approval was getting absolutely nothing.

The explanation on the Stewards Corner of the NYRA website is as idiotic as I expected. The lack of consistency from the stewards is obviously a huge problem.
It was more of a judgment call, but how they determined Roman Approval was more likely to get a better placing than a horse like Pine Needles in the 2nd on Friday is beyond me. That starts to incorporate opinions of racing that they simply don't have. With all that goes on out there on a daily basis, why Jose Ortiz felt compelled to object in this situation is an absolute head scratcher as well. |

I also noted that sometimes on these big days it takes races several minutes to go "official" and as I waited for the Inquiry to go up...Bang! "official". Horses still galloping out.:zz: That animal deserves better and will get it one of these days. |
