Araafa, great move by connections... this guy will be tough to beat!

I love Araafa too...Is Librettist still coming, and if so, how has he done since pulling a muscle last out?

If they come, I still think they own good enough Euro form to be considered more classy than Gorella and Aragorn....you have to give Group 1 turf horses in Europe extra credit...you just always have to assume they are better than our turf horses because 90% of the time they are. Look how easy Aussie Rules beat top American milers Miesque's Approval, Silent Name, Remarkable News and Three Valleys....he crushed them with his turn-of-foot in the stretch and it had Gomez up in the saddle saluting the grandstand before he was under the wire...

I think Librettist is very much flattered by his two G1 wins this year. Yeah sure they were the top 2 French mile G1s that many champs have won, but the french milers aren't a great bunch and he had a soft lead in both and Frankie rode a great tactical race both times.. I think he was found out in top company last time. The injury cant help his preperation...

If he was the only front runner, he might be a play, but I think Araafa takes the perfect stalking position behind leaders and wins comfortably!!

I've always heard from people across the pond whose opinions I trust when sorting out the goods in Europe year-in year-out that Araafa was the best Mile hope aside from George Washington....

Brock, I like Araafa a lot too.. Wasn't sure he was coming. What is your guess as to what his odds will be at post time? If he's 7/2 or higher, I might have to load up.

Araafa is currently available at 6/1 over here for the Mile, and I would hope that he is around that price on the day.

Aragorn is too short at around 5/2, as is Librettist at bewtwwen 8 and 10/1.

We have Araafa (128) rated 4lb higer than Librettist (124) - both well behind George Washington (133), and given that Araafa will be receiving another 4lb weight for age, that puts him 8lb clear of the Godolphin horse and given just average luck in running, I can't see Araafa giving up that kind of advantage given that conditions should suit.
