Lynch positive for weed will force SCR of Private Zone

NY Gaming Commission random testing nets Brian Lynch with positive for weed. As a result, Private Zone will be forced to scratch from True North Friday.

random drug test to the trainer?

Easy Goer Otis 06-08-2016 04:37 PM

Does the suspension extend to Woodbine? He's got a couple of my 2yo fillies up there.

Thanks,

O

That is crazy. Testing for weed?! Smh

declansharbor 06-08-2016 05:26 PM

Lynch has since switched to edibles.

I've truly seen it all in my 12 years as a fan of the sport!

Somebody must have been out to get him.

Don't think he's taking calls right now. At least not from someone who is a minor shareholder.

I'll put my faith in the Canadian sense of perspective on these things. No one partied harder than Rob Ford and he kept getting elected mayor of Toronto.

Well good luck either way. I'm no fan of weed but this is a joke.

Thanks and agree. He's only had our fillies for a couple months, but we are very pleased with their progress so far. Am hoping for an option to race in ON and NY, as originally planned.

Best,

O

What should have sensible people in an uproar is the fact that Lynch can't participate this weekend but a jockey who is a habitual offender can.

Makes sense, eh?

While it's stupid to test trainers for weed what is the real disgrace is the NYSGC acting like they have uncovered some sinister plot that requires the trainer to immediately be disqualified from participating. While I'm sure there is a rule that allows them to do this, the tone deaf nature of this decision on the same day that Ohio became the 25th state to legalize it's use in some form is telling.
