Not sure if the author of the article, Margaret "Red" Ransom posted here in the past but I got to know here at the old Blood Horse forum (15 years or so ago).

Wow, that is an eye opener. What a piece of garbage she must be to fail to care for her horses and allow them to suffer like that. If she can't win with the Drawing Away "formula" she likely doesn't have the talent to train that she boasted. And a deadbeat to boot. She should immediately be investigated and if true her license yanked in every jurisdiction.

The news is not all bad for Maria, I am pretty sure she would still look great in prison stripes.

Why it is always dangerous to jump to conclusions before the full story is known.

On the other hand, how good must Run Happy be to have achieved considering what we now know if even half of this is true?

This isn't good for either party. If she isn't a lunatic and this proves to be false it could be a crippling blunder.

Didn't all this stuff come out 6-7 months ago on Facebook?

I recall the one farm owner complaining that she owed back rent and complaining about conditions of the property but it was hard to tell from that whether it was just sour grapes about pending litigation.

This article has many other witnesses supporting much worse than I had heard and it also details Maria consistently doing this stuff since she was fired by McInvale.

While they are still allegations, these contain much more detail that, while I will try not to jump to conclusions, does not look very good for her.

I just wonder how this can have gone on all this time particularly with her in the spotlight and it not be investigated and her license pulled if true.

Its not enough evidence. I'm so suspect of hit pieces on individuals and that could make me completely wrong but I'm withholding judgement on her.

Lets see how it all plays out.

There is a saying that anyone can train a good horse. Wollers is a joke of a trainer. I feel bad for the horse. The cast of characters surrounding him....well, its a horror movie.

Yeah, but the judgement against her for non payment is real, and predates mack.
Did he hire her because of his rep? Hers? A bit of both? I briefly worked for a shady person. When i found out he was shady, i left. So did anyone else not shady. But the shady guy, he stayed...he was comfortable having a boss as unethical as him.

Summerville account seems pretty credible. But to coaches point of it being a hit article. If conditions were as atrocious as reported why weren't authorities called immediately to shut the operation down? Who would observe this and not immediately contact authorities who have the he power to do something.

Looks to me like drug abuse on Borell's part or some sort of mental illness.
Why else would someone neglect everything around them?

Facebook/Instagram volunteer detectives aren't going to fly in mediation...under oath.

I've known Ransom for many years now. She is a reputable reporter that did work for Blood Horse. She's active in horse rescue.
