I thought Keeneland and Lexington did a tremendous job last year and was hoping they would become regular in the rotation

Why is the premier racing circuit in the country in the best city in the world with one of the best facilities to host a big crowd consistently denied a Breeder's Cup Day?

This assumes they want the event.

I am not assuming anything, other maybe than the excuse given is complete BS.

Why would you assume they wouldn't want the event?

I read the article but don't see anything that says NYRA bid for the event. I don't have any insider knowledge. But, I do know that tracks aren't exactly knocking down the doors of the Breeders Cup to host.

"Since then, Breeders’ Cup officials have been wary of tabbing the track for the event because of political and financial uncertainty surrounding the track’s operator, the New York Racing Association."

I'm naive about the situation but what does this really mean?

NY Gov. not exactly in love with NYRA, still formulating plan for future after 3 years. NYRA not that interested in BC ,getting its house in order is priority and not financially lucretive ,sp. as BC takes over track not high on Kays' agenda ? The Belmont mess 2 yrs ago memory lingers ? a few ideas.
