You are on your way to oblivion betting those kinds of numbers on a pick 4,5's. The combos add Drive up Ticket cost REAL FAST.... I'd stick to Doubles and Pick 3's and WTF is with the Grand Slam? How much money is even in that pool? You took a step back IMO on your bet construction.

To go a step further on Jim's thinking, there is really no reason to play $5 pick 5's That just seems to be a gross misuse of your bank roll.

You're not using the 3/5 ML favorite in the first race. If you beat her, you gotta think the payouts are going to pay well on a .50 ticket. On the other hand, you're playing a $5 pick 5 and not covering what is going to be an odds on single on a lot of other tickets.

I just feel like since it seems like you have this deep bankroll, you're better off playing a smaller base and covering more of those potential bombs that many of us can't afford to cover on our tickets, instead of playing a power ticket like that. You have the pockets to hit that monster (like Jim did) and getting out of your hole in one swoop.

You had success the other day with doubles & pick 3's, why not stay with that and if you want throw in a .50 or a $1 pick 5 to be involved?

Exactly Matt... I wouldn't consider anything more than a $1 Pick 5 even if I was getting TARP funds.

Still waiting for his first bridge jumper bet. Stay tuned.

I bet against bridge jumpers, not with them...

I did a pick 5 today, due to I am pretty sure I can beat the big favorite in the 1st.. Tomorrow I'll be back to DD's & PK3's...
Once again I thank you for your insightful comments

I'll be back to DD's & PK3's tomorrow... Grand Slam was one of my favorite bets. Yet my mentor will attest that I did go 0-29 playing it and quit..
I really feel I can beat the odds on choice in the 1st race today, if I'm lucky enough to do so then my PK5 will pay very nice even with me using the big favorite in the 2nd...

I'm currently in Vegas for NYE lets see if I can cash a big one before the ball drops...

That's fair, but are you happy with the coverage with the rest of your ticket? Nothing like cracking an odds on favorite and then losing in another leg where you might be only be 2 deep. This is where you might want to cut back the bet size and use that to go deeper in another leg or legs, hoping some chaos ensues.

LoneStarHorse 12-30-2015 11:25 AM

Race 1: 1-4-2

To quote BB King " right key, wrong key hole"

Race 2: 3-1-6

The 1/5 wins, yawn...

MaTH716 12-30-2015 01:01 PM

To go back to this discussion, check the will pays of the $1 pick 5 payout today.
You could hit a grand slam on a .50 bet. Just dont need to send it in. That was with one odds on losing and another 1/5 shot winning.

LoneStarHorse 12-31-2015 06:25 AM

Aqu - $1,340
Sa - $352

- $1,692

Pitched a shut out yesterday
