The 80s are calling...

No one can claim easy solutions to the Syrian debacle. But it’s helpful to remember one particular 2012 presidential debate, when Obama mocked Mitt Romney for calling Russia our nation’s number one geopolitical threat. “The 1980s are now calling,” he said dismissively, “to ask for their foreign policy back.”

Amazingly, here we are, with Russia poised to steamroll the Middle East, while our president spouts Fukuyama-inspired platitudes before the U.N. Mr. President, don’t look now, but the 1990s are calling. They want their copy of “The End of History and the Last Man” back. There are some corrections to be made.

while turning back time to 1980 and thereabouts, can we than not have 'trickle down economics'?
research has shown what a complete bungled, clusterf*ck that turned out to be.
and the sad part...republicans want to keep doubling down with it.

Take home pay for the average citizen is less now than it was in 2008. People get what they deserve for the votes they cast.

I'll take trickle down capitalism over trickle down socialism any day.

Regan Era was the beginning of the computer boom and Obama Era was doubling down on outsourcing jobs out of the country and importing H1B labor at a fraction of the cost. Winners currently are those sitting at the top of Corporations and the politicians they own from both parties. Meanwhile they will continue fanning the flames to keep this faux left right war going. The fact is nothing changes except the government changing the calculations of indicators measuring the strength of the economy in order to show a good headline number cause we all know most of America reads the headline and nothing else. Now back to our regularly scheduled program.
