BC Entries

OK I downloaded the form for BC day and most races have 23+ entered. I want to do some early caping but does anyone know where I can get the "probable entries" to par down these monster fields?

Thanks in advance.

Spydee,

You can't really go more than 10 deep with probables right now.. The last few are a crapshoot. I'm going through the lists right now myself trying to get a pared down feel. Review the ones you know will be there and get familiar with the ones that are uncertainties...

Well, there's no easy way but you could always try and mimic what the BC committee does. Look on ntra.com for the points standings and the top seven pre-entered will get in automatically. The last seven spots are selected at the discretion of the committee. So basically find the seven that get in automatically and then the next seven most accomplished and you should have a good idea of the field. And like Steve said, get familiar with the others since there will be defections.

I've regularly "discovered" horses in these pre-entries over the years that don't end up running BC Day, especially turfers and babies.. Then when they showed up later in the year or the following year, I had a recollection or familiarity of them from the pre-entries. It's a positive..

Where did you guys get these, I didn't think they were out until next week?

Thoroughbred Times also has their Road to the Breeder's Cup site that may be useful.

The DRF BC edition with lifetime PPs should be on the shelves this Thursday or Friday, and I would guess can also be purchased on line at that time. No post positions at that time. Drift's PPs will take up a whole page.
