enjoy it while it lasts

http://www.foxbusiness.com/investing...ut-oil-prices/

"there is an even greater long-term risk to the global economy from the lower oil prices of today because of the lack of investments being made in non-OPEC production during the downturn. Oil companies around the world are deferring and canceling expensive long-term oil projects that are needed to meet future demand. These projects will be needed because the depletion of oil reservoirs means that global oil production declines at a 4% rate per year, while demand has been increasing by roughly 1% per year because of economic and population growth."

When it's high the President is not responsible. When it's low the President is responsible.

Welcome to the land of sheep.

Yay for ruining the Canadian and United States economy by allowing Saudi Arabia to bankrupt a portion of our population!

Whoo hoo the Sauds are going to keep prices low when their competitors are 'taken care' of.

And I thank my lucky stars to be livin' here today. Cause this flag still stands for Freedom. And the gas prices are ok. HeyyyyyYYYYY!

And I'm proud to be a dumb pleb. Where at least I know gas is cheap. And I won't forget the men who lost their jobs....who gave that price to me.

And I'll proudly stand up next to you and celebrate here today. Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land! God bless more middle class jobs going awayyyyyY!!!!

The Bush family begs to differ..

Quote:

The Bushes are carriers of the deny-destroy-and-be-damned virus. Prescott Bush never apologized for trading with the Nazis. George Bush Senior professed to know nothing of the drug and arms dealing that funded the bloody, illegal Iran-Contra operations, although it was common knowledge that he directed them. He and his sons enriched themselves through shady real estate deals and financial manipulations that brought down entire banking and savings and loan institutions. They are all consummate inside traders, looting and leaving ruin in their wake.

President-Select George Bush is no exception. He has no scruples about exploiting his office for personal and family gain. The Texas governor who could joke about frying prisoners in the electric chair will not, as president, agonize over the decision to send young men and women into battle--or over denying them medical care when they are injured.
There is irrefutable evidence that highly-placed Saudis aided and supported the terrorists who murdered over 3000 American citizens on September 11, 2001. Yet George Bush persists in protecting and colluding with those who sponsor terrorists. Is this not an an act of treason?
Will George Bush ever be tried and convicted for war crimes?

Quote:

The Bush administration’s ties to oil and gas are as deep as an offshore well. President George W. Bush’s family has been running oil companies since 1950. Vice President Dick Cheney spent the late ’90s as CEO of Halliburton, the world’s largest oil services company. National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice sat on the board of Chevron, which graced a tanker with her name. Commerce Secretary Donald Evans was the CEO of Tom Brown Inc. — a natural gas company with fields in Texas, Colorado and Wyoming — for more than a decade.

The links don’t end with personnel. The bin Laden family and other members of Saudi Arabia’s oil-wealthy elite have contributed mightily to several Bush family ventures, even as the American energy industry helped put Bush in office. Of the top 10 lifetime contributors to George W.’s war chests, six either come from the oil business or have ties to it, according the Center for Public Integrity.

So....is it news that rich folks run the world and drop the rest of us a crumb once in awhile? It is the blood of the common person that provides entertainment for the rich...I see a new TV show is about rich folks who gamble on crime and use a guy who lost his wife as their pawn...how very true to the real world.

Every administration since Jimmy Cater has been in bed with the Saudis. Big Run's point is that he has a huge hard on for the Bush family and tries to shoe horn it into every thread regardless of topic.

Unless of course his point is that Obama isn't. Which would explain this thread, and why I lose IQ points and feel a little dumber every time I read something he posts.

It boggles my mind how much praise or blame is garnered by the President for things that he has so little control of.
Thing is....so many companies are holding onto cash rather than looking into capital investments, r and d....oil and gas is one of the few industries doing so. Yes, its nice to see lower prices, but what are the long term consequences? Obviously, the prices aren't falling on other items that are quick to raise prices when transportation costs go up.

FTFY...and you are correct, I have a very huge hard on for G Dumya Bush which is well founded, i.e.invading a sovereign country..but not his daddy, a WWII hero :tro:

And I shoe horned it in as a reply to this off topic post..

did you know name calling is the number one 'don't' on the list of debating rules?

at any rate, what do you think about the gas prices, etc?

and i don't get why...we get less than 10% of our oil from them.

that whole area is just nuts. we sell arms to folks and then they fire them at each other.
honestly, i think our main goal is to keep all the fighting over there in that region. we don't want them to end it either, just keep it localized and unstable.

Pants II 09-08-2015 02:05 PM

The 'why' is making the rounds in the international media.

You have 3 guesses.
