mark casse who i think most thought was loaded 22 1. 2. 3.

bruce brown 20 0.4.2.

not sure why these guys are not getting in the winner circle but trends bieng what they are it may be wise to leave them out of your multis till they get one.

hoovesupsideyourhead 08-13-2015 10:37 AM

i blame wilkes failure on julian l who is just trying hard enough not to get fired

Gaelic Storm 08-13-2015 09:43 PM

It just shows how tough it is to win at Saratoga. Here are some more:

Jonathan Sheppard 0-12
Phil Serpe 0-14
Jimmy Jerkens 0-12
Michelle Nevin 0-23
Bruce Brown 0-24

I tend to agree.

Wilkes with 3 wins at Ellis over the weekend and 29/8-5-8 overall. It's simply hard to win at SAR when every race you're in has layers of contenders. And here's what he's sent out so far.. Free as a Bird the lone favorite he's run.

26-1
39-1
3-2 (Free as a Bird 2nd in Caress)
11-1
9-2
35-1 (Taketheodds 3rd in Shine Again)
53-1
49-1
9-1 (Neck 'n Neck 3rd in Alydar)
10-1
21-1
5-2
15-1
5-1
10-1
5-2

Casse is the most surprising out of the list.

At Del Mar...Eurton is snakebit like no other. 35/1-6-3

That one win was Sidney's Candy's first winner. He was winning at 2% with firsters at the time too.

Steve, when you see numbers like these, particularly early in the meeting, you start to wonder whether horses are being placed into conditions where they are actually competitive. Hopefully, there will be a turnaround during the final weeks of the meeting.

Have already written more statistical information on the Leparoux/Lanerie season than the performances have warranted. Hope that both manage to catch some live action as they are surely better than their current records ... but as a bettor ... you have to play the game in a dispassionate manner.

I'm not sure they are both certainly better.Julian used to be, feels to me like he has been sliding downward for a few years now. Lanerie is OK in Kentucky, he is totally over matched when he comes here.

Conversely, what about Dutrow, every year bringing it. I swore to bet him and missed, and with the seconds, I would of lost but man he comes loaded.

Leparoux seriously won the Eclipse in 2006.

He was pretty good. Riding good horses for snake man and I think Frankel a little.

I've always felt that Julian stunk at every track not named Keeneland.

My memory is possibly fried and I haven't looked up the numbers to verify.........but....

Leparoux got fat on synthetic.

Mine too but I seem to recall him being a pretty solid rider on the turf with off the pace horses. Not so much with need the lead types.

Kasept 08-21-2015 06:43 AM

Number of trainers off the duck the last few days..

Wilson
Jerkens
Sheppard
Serpe
Dilger
Bush (2 in 2 days)
Morrison
Catalano
Nicks
Terracciano
Dutrow

True. But I also factor in that when the sport was overrun with synthetic tracks that it changed the conditioning of other jockeys and actually negatively affected most of them while benefiting a small portion of them like Leparoux and Rosario.

Now Rosario is showing signs of life at Toga but he hasn't been necessarily setting the woods on fire the past two years.
