Todd Schrupp
How could someone who knows so little be so opinionated. Hes the guy that should just sit in the corner and pay attention to guys who have a clue on handicapping
|
He's arguably the best handicapper in the universe and quite skilled in the art of ebonics.
|
You would have to look very hard to find a tool as big as Todd T Shrupp. Just sitting here listening to him explain his pick 3s and 4s is comical. He acts like he has a clue and the guy is the worst Ive ever seen. Hes rivaled by only Hank Goldberg whos still trying to figure out what lasix is used for.

You guys can say what you want and I do not know him personally but he was in front of me Derby Day cashing an IRS ticket for 42 grand so he must know a little something.

I obviously had Barbaro to win, but left out Bluegrass Cat... DOH. |

42 grand huh?" sun shines on a dogs a$$ somedays billy hoyle"! how much did he have invested in that ticket? the guy of course has a passion for the game which is nice but his handicapping is absolutely awful and hes either super annoying to listen to and or just flat out boring and a little too nerdy on camera for my liking on tvg but obviously tvg likes him since hes been round for how long now |

LOLmaybe the new derby angle to follow is to pay attention to the hosts on tvg that cant cap wortha crap(some can on there of course) considering rudolph had giacomo and shrupp cashed big according to round pen

keep in mind giacomo was logical considering who had been chasing earlier in his career, i am and im sure many others are kicking themselves in the rear for overlooking that and not including him derby day |
schrupp is a bad handicapper.
Im not sure he would even argue that at this point. his pick 4s are plain comical, and the structuring of his tickets are puzzling to say the least. whats really bad is at what one point, he was Calder Race Course's "expert" handicapper and his picks were given out nationally every day. thats just plain terrible. and dont give me that crap about him having Barbaro on May 5 as some kind of justification of his handicapping expertise. I told you guys in November of 2005 that Barbaro would not lose to another horse of his age, be it KY Derby or otherwise. I posted with proof when I made my KY Derby future wager on him. And I posted when I made my KY Derby day wager on him. I was right on spot on that one and made a killing. And I tell you all of this as someone who recognizes myself as a terrible dirt handicapper. Im horrible. Nobody on this board or anywhere else should listen to me when it comes to dirt. hell, maybe you should not listen to me at all. but the point is that I had Barbaro from the day he broke his maiden, to the first stakes win at Laurel, to Calder, to Gulfstream, and yes, even in Churchill on the first Saturday in May. and it does not make me or Schrupp a genius. it just makes Barbaro a fast horse. Damn...nice call in having him in the winter. I think Matt is pretty good. He has a real affinity for lone speed and i think it gets him in trouble a lot of times. |

thanks, anyone who has posted with me here or at ESPN over the last 4 years knows that I am terrible at 3YOs and in particular, picking KY Derby winners. but I was right from the start on Barbaro. maybe just pure luck, or maybe Im getting better at looking at 2YOs late in the year. probably just luck. I agree about Caruthers. I dont really like his whole 58 flat show(camera angles seem contrived), but he has a good handicapping mind. and man are you right about his fondness for lone speed. hed bet a 20K claimer in in the BC Classic if he thought it could get an easy lead. he loves speed and fade angles and can get really hot at times when a track is playing to speed. He is one of the guys I can honestly say that I have learned something from on TVG over the past 4 years that I have been watching. Repent |
