I didn't realize they were going to run her again before the Breeder's Cup. This makes me think she is headed for the mile. What do you guys think?

I expect her to run in the mile, but this could set her up for the mare turf also. It can be a prep for either.

I am so excited about this years cup and not just for the Classic this year. Normally that is the race I am most excited about. This year is going to be sooo good. :)

Gorella is bad news in my book, still love the late running bitch though

I think she goes in the Mile. Coolmore wont run 2 there, and they want G Dubs for the Classic it seems to take on their friends from Dubai. Aragorn really hasnt impressed me and the rest of the contingent is very average from the US. Considering she ran a troubled 3rd last year to Leroid and Artie and looks better this year, I think thats the logical choice.

I'm with ya there Buffy.
First off...if Gorella hits the board, consider her ready.
Second...the timing is about right.
Third...I'd love to see her romp...despite the naysayers.

How has Aragorn not impressed you? What has this horse done wrong? He has just won everything in site on the west coast. No reason why he should be talked about as one of the key contendars.

I love Gorella. I loved her ever since I saw her race at keeneland in her US debut. I would love to see her go in the Mile since I think that is he best distance. I think she would win if GW doesnt go. If GW goes in the Mile then it is over with.

Aragorn has been really good, but something tells me the Euros will win the Mile this year.

I think the only are about two Euros that can win and win easily - GW and Librettist

I really thought Aragorn had a chance against the Euros until his last performance.
That was less than impressive. Hopefully it was just Drysdale leaving a lot in the tank, but I hated the way he finished that run.

Gorella is a really nice filly, but I dont see her winning the Mile.
its a better field than last year, when she did found too much trouble to win.
I really dont see what they are so scared of with the FM Turf.
she looked just fine at 9.5f. She should be able to go a bit farther.
Although if Alexandrova runs, they are all running for 2nd.

same as the Mile. If Librettist runs, they are all running for 2nd.
George Washington will not even beat Aussie Rules if both run.

If the turf has any give in it, Aragorn will be vulnerable and a play against. He's much better on firm turf and its very likey that there'll be rain in late Oct and early Nov in Louisville. I'm not a weather forecaster, but my percentages are just as good as those that get paid to do it for a living!

I think the distance of the F/M Turf would suit her fine and that's the race she should go in. I don't see her winning either one though. I'm not afraid of George Washington at all though if he's in the Mile and I think he should be in the Classic. Araafa is the horse I fear for the Mile and Aragorn is in with a shot although I agree with another poster that I did not like the way he finished his last race. I see Gorella as third best in the Mile, at best. I see her further down the list in the F/M Turf but I think that the distance would be better for her.
