I heard about his injury earlier and finally found out that Party Time apparently was euthanized. He plunged down the dropoff at Keeneland after getting loose. I'm guessing it turned out he really was paralyzed. If that's true, hopefully it diminished his suffering. He was by Pulpit out of Furlough, and I'm pretty sure I saw him go through the auction ring because that pedigree rings a bell. He was a very striking chestnut. The Wests tried to save him, but there was probably not much they could do.

Catalano talked about the hedge and everything, but how much did he have to clear in the end? Hopefully most horses running around there won't get that idea. They have no idea there's a such a drop. Sometimes the way they instinctively react when spooking just leaves you with a death wish on four legs. So tragic. RIP.
