Doesn't look too good.

Princess Mara has no excuse there, not sure why Junior let the rail open there, but she couldn't even get her nose down for second after being allowed to walk around the park. Now that this 1 is probably going to come down, she couldn't get me to the window. :wf

I will be absolutely shocked if they do not take Sabbatical down in the third race.

I am absolutely gob-smacked. How was that NOT a foul that impacted at least Silky's (#4) chance of winning?

pointman 08-14-2014 12:51 PM

I have been no fan of the Saratoga Stewards who have been clueless this meet and have made the wrong call on a number of no brainers, but having watched it back, it did look like Irad tried to go for a hole that did not exist.

Cost him a few lengths.

Amazing - I had Princess Mara and was about to gripe about the ground on the final turn that Junior Alvarado gave away allowing Glorious Chant (#2) to slip through which clearly cost him the place money. That situation just pales in comparison to the steward's decision here. Seriously, someone is going to go down in those types of situations. I would be more interested in hearing how that was NOT a foul against the 4 horse.

The hole existed until ****ing Castellano came in.

Funny, I thought the whole was clearly defined and that Castellano tried to close it when Ortiz had already gained the spot. Will rewatch the head-on replay with an open mind.

Have just watched the head-on ... that path clearly existed, Ortiz had a neck into the space, and Castellano came across to slam the door late. That was a disqualification.
