Barbara Banke

Steve.....is there any way you can get Barbara Banke to visit with you on ATR?

She is such a unique woman in this game. Most wives of strong-arm men in this industry cut back after their husbands die. Barbara Banke has not. She has taken control of Stonestreet, and Jess Jackson's legacy has become her legacy.

Nobody talks about Barbara Banke as the widow of Jess Jackson any more. She's the owner and operator of Stonestreet and its investments, and at this point, the late Jess Jackson has nothing to do with it.

I would love to hear you have a talk with her.

That's a good suggestion.. Will make appropriate gesture to get her on. She's been a godsend to the bloodstock trade considering what the alternative was upon the passing of Jackson.

Could shed light on her leaving Steve Assmusen. touchy topic but could be dealt with by an expert if she was willing to discuss?

The boss = an expert.....in so many ways.

Steve,

Just wondering if you've had any luck with lining Barbara up for the show......

And boy, am I ever going to be embarrassed if she's already been on and I somehow missed it!:o

Not yet.. Got her number and haven't yet reached out. Perfect time though after Thanksgiving.

Rachel

I am wondering how she is, and is she permanently retired from the breeding shed?

Sorry to bug you Steve.

Barbara Banke is one of the most fascinating people in the industry.

Can you please get an interview with her?

Unlike her late husband, Banke is not a natural people person. She sometimes avoids eye contact, and talking about herself does not come easily. But Banke began to open up after I joined her, her two Labrador retrievers, and neighbor Peggy Furth on their daily 90-minute hike near Banke’s mountainside home in Geyserville, Calif. “It clears my mind,” she says of her morning treks.
Looks like ATRAB has a road trip and hike ahead of them. Or maybe a helicopter ride? ;)

And Soaring here's the article...

Thanks so much, dellinger, for posting that. She is, truly, a fascinating individual.

It does appear, though, that Steve might have a problem nailing her down for the show. I hope not.......I would really love to hear what she has to say.
