According to Racing Post

Saeed Al Tayer, Meydan chairman, said: "This is a decision that will be best for the future of Meydan racing & the Dubai World Cup Carnival”

Bill Finley will be crushed.

The only ones happy about it are Americans. Should be interesting to see if we start going back over there or not like we use to.

Doesn't this just mean smaller field sizes for stakes races here?

really?

i hope it doesn't mean more americans go back there tho. i detest that place, and don't want them to get any attention from us til they change their ways.

Well I would think that for what the purses are, most trainers/owners will turn a blind eye to "their ways".

Michael Dickinson is probably berating one of the Princes right now.

money ain't everything. purses to be had here, rather than shipping and missing out on racing because of the hardships placed on the horse.

and the really was about only americans being happy. i doubt it's just them. but if it is, there's probably a good reason why they're trying to draw them back.

eff em is what i say. i know they want to buy respectability like rhett butler, but they aren't respectable. american horses and horsemen would be better off if the bc would make their days the top race days in the world, with the biggest purses.
