TwinSpires promo for bets on Wood Mem
 

If you make WIN bets on the Wood Memorial using your TwinSpires account and the winner of the Wood goes on to win the Ky Derby, you get all your Wood win bets refunded (whether or not you bet on the Wood winner).

Say you bet on Samraat in the Wood, but Social Inclusion wins the Wood. If Social Inclusion goes on to win the Ky Derby, you'll get a refund from TwinSpires of your win bet on Samraat.

Or say you bet on Samraat in the Wood and Samraat does win. You get paid for your Wood win bet, AND, if Samraat goes on to win the Derby, you get a refund of your Wood win bet, even though you already got paid on it.

I think it's a pretty clever promo. It sounds better than it is. It amounts to a small rebate. What would you estimate the chance of the Wood winner going on to win the Derby? Not many have done it lately. Since Pleasant Colony in 1981, only Fusaichi Pegasus in 2000.

This makes playing against SI (and Samraat/Uncle Sigh) more appealing, which I was already going to do. If he wins he could be a beast, and beat this 3yo crop come May 3rd. Samraat, and U.Sigh winning would be the downside, they aren't getting the 10f on May 3rd.
