Dubai Carnival Contest VII energised by brockguy

I can't believe this is now the 7th year doing this version of this and it always comes up ridiculously fast! The 7th annual Dubai Carnival Contest is officially open. The carnival starts tomorrow and there are 11 or so carnival dates - http://www.dubaiworldcup.com/news/lo...ons-first-card

ryonker1 joined Jaripeo last year as a multiple winner of this prestigious award.

Competition Roll of Honour
2013 - ryonker1
2012 - The Bart
2011 - Jaripeo
2010 - ryonker1
2009 - No Chance To Dance
2008 - Jairpeo

Same Rules as previous year (again unless someone suggests any improvements?):

- 2 selections per race with an alternate pick in case of a scratch

- $40 win on the first horse and a $5 exacta box on the 2 selected horses so a total of $50 per race

- Mark your best bet of the day (Nap) and that horse's stake is doubled.

- All returns settled at UK Industry Odds and only the thoroughbred races count!

- Like previous years, Super Saturday points will be doubled and World Cup Night points trebled so at least there is still something to play for up until the end of the carnival.

- The person with the highest return over the period wins and dont worry if you miss a week or two, ye are all welcome, we have seen a drop in numbers the last few years so I am hoping we can increase the number of participants!

The most obvious links for those wanting more are www.dubairacenight.com (great website run by Pat Cummings) www.dubairacingclub.com and www.racingpost.com.

If anyone else has queries, questions for me etc etc, just let me know - I'm all ears.

I'll be in for sure.

Better get cracking with the card in the morning! Thanks for running it again this year.

Great NoChance - trying to have a look at it now - always amazes me how good the cards are for flat racing this time of year, its a grand way to keep betting up to Cheltenham!!

Yeah, I always enjoy seeing it back. Unfortunately this is the only week I'll be able to watch live before I head back to Oz.

At a glance, tomorrow looks extremely tricky. Especially not knowing how forward the MdK horses are, as they usually take a run or two.

Not sure if you have been watching Meydan over the past couple of weeks, but the Tapeta has been showing a definite speed bias.

Haven't seen any of it to be honest - been just concentrating on the jumps. If you can get a right handle on the MDK and Godolphin horses early on, there is plenty of cash to be made - the problem is pretty much year in year out I get it very wrong!

One of the more open days of the carnival. It looks very tricky. I've taken a punt and not selected a SINGLE MdK horse, they all tend to need a run and he has been quoted as saying the horses are two weeks behind schedule (so, watch all of them win!)

Best of luck everyone.
