Barry Bonds

Well, he finishes the season 22 home runs short of Aaron...he had surgery on his elbow today and will be ready come spring training but where?? The Giants are apparently playing hardball demanding a large salary cut...he's eligible for free agency once the World Series ends...will be interesting to see where he lands! The American League with the DH would seem to be ideal but who would want the baggage? The Yankees immediately come to mind but what a circus that would be (Joe Torre just aged 20 years at the thought). Oakland? Back to SF? I've heard a lot of speculation but it's a tough call!

It's probably in the best interest of the league if he doesn't get the record. I really think that if the Yankees don't want him that his salary demands will be so different from the offers that he will retire.

It does seem he would have to be a DH. I still have not figured out how a team serious about winning could put a player in the outfield that cannot even run. I was under the assumption that the National League Baseball required that one be able to play in the field...

He will end up on some team. 22 is not that many. ANd where has that perjury thing gone? I thought he was dead meat on that and I cant find a thing about it.

Records matter way too much in baseball. It is such a stat ridden sport. The idea is to win. Another bad assumption on my part.

George hasn't lost his mind completely and there is no way Torre or Cashman want him.
