Oakland draws first blood

Twins better get those bats working or they can make tee times for next week.
Middle of the 5th inning and its 2-0 A's.

Oracle, the A's don't give up runs.Other teams have to earn them. When Loaiza is at his best,he can be very stingy(and he will be upset to give up any runs.)Watch, and if he gives up even 1 run, he will show complete disgust at himself.I mean,he thinks he is good enough to not allow any runs.

SCUDSBROTHER 10-04-2006 02:00 PM

Like I said, they make teams work hard for their runs.Loiza leaves the game in a 2-2 tie.He gave up 2 home runs, and a slew of hits.Just 2 runs though.Stingy bunch.

Twins,on the other hand, play poorly on D,and give up a 2 run in the park H.R. Again, Matador D.That sht is always ugly.Tory in center. When they play Matador, they get the penalty of having to watch the ball go to the wall (almost 100% of the time.)

I see what you mean Scuds. A's now lead 4-2 in the top of the 8th.
I've only been calling oakland-Yanks for 6 weeks now. ;)

Yeah, you're smart enough to know your executioner.

I wouldn't say that, but I did say about a month ago that the A's were the only team who can beat the Yanks. Certainly wasn't gonna be an AL Central team or anyone in the NL.
The winner of the A's-Yanks series is your champion.

You really have to feel sorry for the Twins. Bunch of hard working guys and a manager and a general manager who worked hard to come from WAY behind to win their division. Down 2-0 and would have to win 3 in a row including two in whats sure to be a frenzied Oaktown.
Maybe next year.
I think after tonight the Al Central will be 0-4.

No,I don't feel sorry for them.It is no disgrace to lose to the A's.

I'm not in the mood for sorry.I want to get paid by the A's,and I fully expect to do it.

My Twinkies are toast. How could Torri make such a bone-headed move!? Damn! I will say this though (not exactly goin out on a limb here)- If Radke wins on Fri, Johan is pitchin on short rest. Carlos Silva won't see the field the rest of the playoffs. Same for Boof in Game 5.

I have seen Bradley(twice) and Payton make the same stupid Matador play.Maybe they will balance the situation out by doing the Matador for ya in Oakland. One guy you won't see doing that is KOTSAY.

Tough injury to take for A's...Ellis broke his right index finger. The guy is a very important piece of that team's defense. He has like 1-3 errors the whole season. To me,the guy is a damn good clutch hitter, too.Ellis, and Scutaro are highly underrated ballplayers.

pmayjr 10-05-2006 04:53 AM

That is a tough injury for the A's. But it won't matter until y'all play the Yankees. I'm a die-hard Twins fan. But I'm not a delusonal Die-Hard Twins fan lol.
