Rename

They should just rename the ACA the "Abolition of Care Act". They can even keep the initials.

:tro: to the fact that it took you 3 years to think that.

Danzig 11-15-2013 07:31 AM

oh, how clever...

joey, i'm sorry that you're upset that they are trying to find ways to get more people coverage. that people who couldn't get insurance now will be able to.
it'll be ok, really. keep in mind that your ancestors were against social security, medicare, and unemployment insurance. the country survived their implementation, it'll survive this too.

joeydb 11-15-2013 07:35 AM

Says who? I just chose to post it now.

And the effects of this law are no longer theoretical, now that it has been passed and "we can find out what's in it."

Watching the Democrats commit hari kari over this is going to be the only bright spot in this disaster.

Now is the time for an outright repeal of this P.O.S. I don't think Obama will want to sign it, but there will be enough furor to eventually get 2/3 in both houses to override. Especially when the employee-provided insurance is affected in 2014 and the vast majority of current policy holders lose their insurance in the same way that the individual policy holders did.

Danzig 11-15-2013 07:44 AM

again, anyone caught by surprise that their current plan isn't up to snuff has no one to blame but themselves. it's been common knowledge for some time. years actually.

the website is an unmitigated disaster.

you're dreaming if you think there will be an outright repeal.

.

Cut the B.S. They are increasing premiums of every healthy for their age, non-smoking, young policy holder including forcing them to buy needless coverage inclusions in order to pay for unhealthy (whether their own fault or not), smokers and those with previous conditions.

When fantasy becomes reality it isn't always pretty.

We have luxury cars and economy cars, we have Morton's and McDonalds, we have mansions and apartments yet we're all supposed to have the same healthcare coverage with those who can't afford it paid for by the rest?

When it was fantasy we all were going to save money because you know the uninsured were using the ER as primary care. Now we find out there are no savings just ever inflating costs. And some think it's just a bumpy start.

Is They Obama or is They the ****ing leeches in the Insurance Industry who wrote the law that have put themselves between Care Provider and Person needing care like the ****ing Mafia?

Both, one ordered the hit and the other is carrying it out. Just like the mafia.

Just think if Mercedes Benz, Porsche, Bentley etc. could get the President to mandate every American own a luxury car and the car manufacturers would decide what was needed as accessories. Every car is now inflated to 100K and those who can't afford are supplemented. Those not buying a car are fined.

At least in the above scenario your average gangbanger would participate. How many do you think will purchase coverage and have insurance when they turn up at the ER next year with gunshot wounds?

:tro:

if anyone is curious about why anything is included in the aca...they need just follow the money.
does anyone really think that those who wrote obamacare actually give a damn about getting people care? or is it how to make more money? i think it's the latter.
when people celebrated about all the new, 'free' stuff that would be mandated, i said nothing is free, it'll have to be paid for, and it'll be paid for thru premiums. does anyone really believe that the health insurers were going to take less profit because they suddenly got philanthropic?! if so, they're dreaming.

the common-sensical law would have forced everyone onto the most basic care system, and people could have added what they wanted. but common sense doesn't have a lobby, while health insurance companies do. by being forced to take the unhealthy and those with pre-existing issues, they required a way to balance that on their books. the requirements that everyone buy, and that everyone buy more options is that way. less age brackets is another.
the obese and smokers will pay more as well, since they tend to be more of a drain on the system. what gets me about smokers is how they bitch that they can't afford stuff, while spending 5-6 bucks or so (per pack!) a day on their habit.

The Dems. The public calls it "ObamaCare" for a reason, and only the Democrats passed this piece of sh*t. So, here comes the pain. Oh, to be a Democrat trying to hold their office in the next election is not going to be pretty.

They own this mess.

You know what is funny, you say the same **** election after election then slink away after a resounding defeat. I think holding the country hostage and willingly trying to push it into default trumps ACA by a wide wide margin.

i think so, too.

the main reason why repubs tried so hard to get the aca quashed-they are afraid once people are in it, using it, they'll like it.
this is the same party that fought social security tooth and nail. unemployment insurance as well. funny, they didn't cause the ruination of this country. i wonder if ss is a reason why the life expectancy rate increased here. i'll have to look it up.
it's certainly not because of our current health care system, which ranks 37th on efficacy, and first in price.

LOL - not even close.

Don't look now but the Republicans, especially Ted Cruz, have been vindicated. This law is as bad as we were warned. Defunding it in hindsight looks like a good idea to the 5 million who have lost their plans.

Whatever negative effects the shutdown had are now over. ObamaCare is the gift that keeps on giving - it continues to suck. It keeps getting worse for more and more people. It is far worse in magnitude.

And, even if these two things were on par - the most recent event is the ObamaCare debacle.

The Democrats have finally given themselves a poison pill.

Obama sheep dont care, debacle after debacle after debacle its ALWAYS the Repubs Fault.

Name 5 "Debacles". Still another binary thinker.. "Red is gud, Blue is bad" If there is a sheep here it is you. Zig didn't vote for Obama yet defends him from unjust criticism from.. Wait... Red Sheep

I'll do 10 off the top of my head

1) Cash for Clunkers
2) Passing on Keystone Pipeline
3) Solyndra
4) GM Bailout
5) Egypt
6) Pakistan (In fact entire Arab Spring)
7) The lack of investigation into the downing of a helicopter that killed 22 seals.
8) The lack of investigation check that; the stonewalling of the investigation into the Benghazi murders.
9) Adding over 6 trillion or $60,000 for every full time worker to the debt.
10) And the obvious, the Obamacare fiasco

Honorable mention: Throwing out the first pitch at a baseball game as an 8-year old girl.

not so.
i guess my ways of presenting my arguments are abject failures.

so, let's try this.

i didn't vote for obama. that's in both elections.
i don't like the aca.

now, let's look at the repubs, who have the majority in the house.

ok, when's the last time a budget was completed? not in years. why? and obama doesn't write the budget.

when did the farm bill fail for the first time ever? this year. why? i'll give you a hint-it failed in the house.
how many jobs bills has the house presented? 0
what political body caused the recent shutdown, costing billions? the tea party republicans, even tho they conceded it would cause harm if they did so.
what did they gain? nothing.

pres obama signed an order creating a bipartisan committee to tackle the budget. were suggestions made? yep. followed? nope. their lack of ability to get anything done led to the sequester. a man made dilemma.
so, if you wish to talk about individual things and what can be done to fix it, let's go.
if you think just d's cause problems, and just r's can fix it, you'd be wrong.

it's a thankless task. :D never would have thought i'd ever be in a position to 'defend' obama. it's not so much a defense as me saying, wait-he's not the only one to blame.

it's funny how things end up. i know when he ran, way back when, i was going no, no, no...there won't be change, can't happen. you can't close gitmo. etc, etc.
was i right? yeah.
did he try? of course.
but the system isn't conducive to a president, determined as he may be, to buck that system. his democratic party won't let him. the people who fund his party won't let him.
just like the people who fund the repubs won't let them. if one wants to know why they all do what they do, one need only look at who is actually in control.

why did cruz do what he did? cause his koch brother bosses told him to.

the dems can't fix things.
the reps can't fix things.
as long as those really in charge are in charge, things will continue as they are, with the rich dictating everything.

i can't afford lobbyists.
so, i don't get subsidies, i don't get bank regs in my favor, i don't get to control wages. and so on.
