The $5 million dollar spider bite

Black Caviar's half-brother "Jimmy" (a $5 mil yearling, now southern hemisphere 2yo) got bitten by a white tail spider and had a reaction to the antiobiotics, leading to diarrhea. He's now 50/50 with a bad case of laminitis.

I've heard of horses having reactions to shots or crazy things happening to youngsters but geez.

Hated reading this. Just awful and really hope he pulls through :(

Here's an update someone linked to on Twitter. Jimmy's apparently stable (no way around that pun, sorry), and eating well.

Really sad to hear that. :( He kept toughing it out, and I had hopes that no news was good news.
