There is no one better to horse players than John. He was a pioneer in the contest business. He always offers contests that give players more than 100% return on entry fees. This was true in his Bally's days and is true now. He never takes advantage of the player and always personally makes sure his customers are well taken care of.

About Johnny Avello

I'm a friend of Johnny Avello's brother-in-law. My friend told me for years that when I was up on the Strip I should stop by and say hello to Johnny. I didn't due it for years because he's a Casino exec and I'm just an aspiring degenerate. But one Tuesday when I was up there and the Strip was dead I stopped by the Bally's book and asked the lone person working if Johnny Avello was busy. She calls up and in 30 seconds he comes down and talks to me for 15 minutes like he's known me for years. He even offered to "call a gal at Caesar's" to get me tickets for the sold out show. You rarely run into such a genuinely good guy.

BTW, here's a bobble head of Johnny.

Very nice. Very fair. When he was at Bally's he would routinely take serious bets on horse props with lesser limits. Player friendly is the word.

I didn't spend a day in the Wynn racebook until April of this year. Now, I can't imagine going anywhere else. The absolute best around and John Avello has everything to do with that.

Those of us who fall short of your lofty tax bracket must resort to other means, Fredo.

I'm definitely going there to play the next time I hit Vegas.
