johnny v should go to the carpet for that ride

so, do the stewarts have the balls to call in johnny v for that ride on tiz for tat in 2nd at belmont? 6 path the whole race? when he gets out to a 4 length lead before the quarter to go down to rail?
disgusting

pointman 09-14-2013 12:48 PM

You have to be kidding, you think that it was Johnny V's fault? The horse was rank and is looking like a professional maiden. The 2 was simply better when it counted. How the 5 didn't take advantage of that is beyond me.

I agree that the horse was rank but you think that a Hall of Fame Jockey should be able to get him off the 6 Path with A 5 length lead.

blackthroatedwind 09-14-2013 01:05 PM

It was a bad ride for a variety of reasons.

ontheoutside 09-14-2013 01:15 PM

that was my point

thats what i was trying to say what jms said
he should get called in regardless if orse is rank or not
5 length lead you get him to inside rail not outside rail
jockey like him knows better
and know im not kidding like you asked in earlier post
remember one thing
the public deserves the best ride possible
so assk youself, did te public get the best ride possible from jv in this race?
no disrespect point but your off on this one

I said pro maiden after his 2nd race. Someone will always beat this horse. I kinda agree with the original post though, you have to put this horse on the rail. Rank means rank, not that you can't go left when you're 4 clear.

Really?!? Rank means rank.... Hmmm! SMH

He did the same thing on Dreamsgonewild in the last race. I guess that horse was rank too....

No problem with either ride. Not like he lost on the best horse. And, clearly, he no longer can finish with Castellano.

He 100% cost his horse in the 2nd race the win by not going to the rail and maintaining the lead. Not only would his mount then have taken advantage of the gold rail, that has existed throughout the meet, but Javy's mount would not have been able to do so. It was a poorly judged ride.

How can you be Mr Trackus and also have no problem with a horse going 5 wide all the way around?

In both cases, he was 2 wide on the turn (Maybe he entered the turn in the 3 path in the turf race). Does it matter where the frontrunner is on the backstretch?

Oh, and I don't bother with TRAKUS.

In my opinion, when a rider stays that wide in the backstretch, it encourages others to go after him early up the inside. I've seen that happen time and time again, and yesterday's last race was no different. Lasso came up inside of him, and not so coincidentally, they were both distanced at the end.

Are you saying the horse wasn't rank? JV had trouble controlling the horse and as Jimmy pointed out, he got him to the 2 path by the turn. The 2 was simply better then he was regardless of JV's ride. Sounds like sour grapes to me.

My post pertained to the last race, not the 2nd. However, I completely disagree with you regarding Tiz for Tat, respectfully, of course. The golden rail at Belmont right now is pretty much undeniable.

I respect your opinion, but I just feel like JV is taking much more heat for this ride than he deserves. The horse was taking him outside and I feel like he did what he could to get an uncooperative horse to the rail by the turn by which time the 2 had already taken the rail. Sometimes a horse doesn't want to do what a rider wants the horse to do and it seemed to me to be the case here.

Tiz for Tat had every opportunity to run the 2 down and the 2 was simply better IMO. I just see many making yet another excuse for this horse and jumping all over him as chalk next time when I am starting to feel that he just might be a pack horse that is going to wait on another horse when it comes crunch time.

JV did everything wrong on Winning Cause (Woodbine Race 6).
