9/12: Belmont Park (1st-9th; Belmont-Penn Nat'l P4)
 

Belmont Double Carryover proved as challenging as advertised as a single deserving ticket, purchased through NYRA Rewards, negotiated the sequence nabbing a $423,424 prize. The opening leg demolished a majority of plays immediately as Jeremiah Englehart FTS (first time starter) Summerdale debuted huge at 27-1. He's So Chic proved unreliable at 4-5 in Leg B, but Chasing Moonlight was certainly on a good number of tix. Mott FTS My Place (5-2) held off 14-1 Sylvia T who would almost certainly have tripped a third carry had she won.

I used bowing Princess Adelyn in the P6/P4, but she knocked a lot out paying $21.80. Cheyenne Nation ruined my P4 play winning the 8th at 6-1 and should have at least been the subject of an inquiry having drifted out to hinder Tiz Gianni and Border Song to a certain degree. 4-1 third choice Ale closed out the sequence in a photo with 7-2 Logan Street who would have rewarded the same winning play.

Hope everyone did OK. New Thursday BEL-PEN P4 debuts today linking the Belmont late double with Penn National's opening pair. The wager is a .50 minimum with attractive 15% takeout...

That fiasco totally sucked-

But.. here's the good news. Somehow the winner went off favored! We're all alive.

Every one of my horses scratch. I am at work, can't watch every second of what's going on. I get 3 doses of the favorite. I see both the 5 & 9 are 8/5. The 5 blows the doors off the field and as I check the pools who is the favorite??????? The 9 by $80 bucks. Screw that.

Did I blow my lid prematurely?

Xpressbet showed the 9 as the fav. by $72. I never back into anything good with scratches!!

The 5 was favored by just under $200.

Thanks for the good news Steve. I have never known the Xpressbet pools to be wrong, but I am glad they were here. It's good to be alive when a horse wins that I would never bet as a fav.
