Pletcher's 2-year old crop
With Pletcher having such a wealth of talent for 2-year olds, it's obviously going to be tough to keep them separated for the derby preps next winter.
Compounding this, how will his ownership interest in Scat Daddy affect the race route and placement of the other horses in his barn? I'm not close enough to his career to know how many owners he does business with, but I would imagine that could create some conflicts of interest. Looking ahead to the Breeders Cup Juvenile, if he enters 3 horses, will they all need to be one entry for wagering purposes (assuming one of the horses is Scat Daddy)? |
He'll have some in Fla some in Cali and likely some in Louisiana as well. Todd's become quite adept at juggling horses to find spots for them and keep them apart from one another.

I realize having a barn in california will help keep them all separated, but I was mainly interested in how a trainer, who is as loaded as pletcher is, handles his horses when one of them (Scat Daddy) has more of a financial interest for him than the others, and how do his other clients handle that. And from a betting interest, if Scat Daddy goes to the Juvy, and King of the Roxy and Circular Quay also go, will they be entered as one, 3-headed entry? |
wrong word, hung over from last night, my bad, will delete

No coupled entries in BC.. Ez |
I don't think there is any coupling in the Breeders' Cup. I know Shake the Bank and Better Talk Now went off as separate betting interests last year.

Speaking of Pletcher's 2-yo, is Circular Quay running this weekend at Keenland? |
