Euro VS US racing coverage

The coverage they give over the pond is top notch. I seen the way the digitally put the program in the middle of the home stretch with the odds and the jockey's name. Then when they are running the head on has strait lines like your local high school track that cpu imaging is really cool. I was most impressed with how even though the 1-5 favorite got beat that everyone was cheering and happy. I even seen like 10 guys kiss the jockey on the side on the head and the jock didn't care. Here in the states if some male fan tried to kiss a male jock, the jock would probally punch him. I think the coverage on HRTV was awesome i couldn't stand to watch toad shmuck on tvg giving out point less info when he would of learned more watching HRTV. I thought it was a really cool. IMO

Being a girl who loves to look at the horses, I agree, lovely footage. :)

Lots of places have done much better than the US at developing and maintaining "fan base". England, for sure. France and Germany, yes.
Austrailia, no debate...South America, South Africa, Japan, southern Asia...the list could go on and on.
So what are we doing wrong here in the states?
I dunno. If you have the answer and dish it to NTRA, you could be rich.
We need to take a lesson from those that have been successful.
btw...there will still be plenty of room for NASCAR.

Here in the US its all about the money and has nothing to due with the beauty of the animal, thats the main problem i see. That telecast in my opinon made TVG look classless and cheap. HRTV atleast had the balls to let us see how its really done. Toad and Gary just kept talkin over the top of the announcer it was awefull.

Part of the trouble we have with our sport compared to other sports, and compared to other countries, is the lack of a central authority. A national authority that could keep tracks in New York and New Jersey and Delaware from running stakes races with the same conditions on the same weekend and so diluting the fields for all three.

But the way state politics work in this country, I can't see the states giving up their authority to a national body that has the best interests of the sport in mind. They see horse racing solely as a revenue-enhancing enterprise and want keep their greedy little mitts on the cash cow.

the whole guy kissing other guy thing over there is really disturbing.

but they tolerate a lot of behaivor from queers and other social parasites that we simply do not put up with here in the states.

the only things continental western europe does better than the United States are turf racing and soccer.

at some point, I would hope we would relocate all their top turf breeding operations to Australia and blow the whole damn place up.

With al the developing technology an TV camersa and transmision of TV. Why cant some of the venues adapt the remote controled portable cameras , like the NFL overhead eye in the sky. Wouldnt it be unique to have a camera ooff the rail showing the front runners in some of the races.

You also have to remember you were looking at coverage of the Arc. argualbly Europes "Ky Derby". Of course there is going to be great coverage, plenty of fan excitement etc etc and everything else that goes along with covering their premier event.
Now watching and reading everything leading up to Ky Derby and its coverage, do you think it is poor on comparison or do you think our country make this into a great sporting event as well? I for one choose the later.
