It is an awesome Saturday to be a racing fan!

Dahoss 04-03-2013 10:13 PM

The Ashland looks ripe for a wire to wire winner, but I am struggling to figure out who the speed is going to be.

RockHardTen1985 04-03-2013 10:48 PM

Won't Mike Smith gun Emollient, especially after the disaster on Saturday?
Who can win the the Transelvania other than Jack Milton and Bambazonki??

Dahoss 04-03-2013 11:32 PM

Spring Venture could probably make the lead pretty easily if she is asked a bit, but who knows what Mena will do. Would have loved to see Rosario on her.

RockHardTen1985 04-03-2013 11:52 PM

With that sprint 2 back and an inside post you could be right.

Trying Tuttipaesi in here because of the draw for Magical Moon. I think Magical Moon makes the lead even from that draw.

I guess Mott is desperate to try and get Emollient into the Kentucky Oaks. She was just defeated by 30+ lengths to Dreaming of Julia last week.

The Keeneland track was slower than it normally is for the under-tack show of the 2yo sale. It was today ... it buzzed by pretty fast until a Pulpit half to Hightail went rodeo style and dumped a rider less than halfway through his breeze. The rider was down for minutes.

Up With the Bird for one; Fire Guard (who just beat Jack Milton) for another. Star Contender also is capable.

I see the speed doing well also...i think Mott bringing Emollient back in a week is positive, now Smith up and an outside post...think he's gotta go for it from out there.
She's my E

Welcome to the U.S., Gathering!

Sightseek 04-06-2013 04:27 PM

Wow!!

Mott did well by Juddmonte today.

Good call. Another Empire Maker who can run on anything. He has to be one of the most versatile sires.

I used 3 in there.... The 1,3 and 13. Emollient is a nice horse.

Dahoss 04-06-2013 06:37 PM

If you told me Spring Venture was going to be that far back early I would assume she stumbled or something.

Be interesting to hear if those were the instructions, or just horrible race riding.

There was a lot of horrible riding in that race.

Mike Smith took a page out of the Julissa Laredo playbook. And a few of the other riders took an early hold that only the Boston Strangler could appreciate.
