8: 4-6-8
9: 1-5-7-9

Hi all,
Tough looking card at Gulfstream this afternoon.

Here are a few that I like today.

Race 1: #7 Rhythm of the Moon looks interesting if he is near the 10-1 ML.
Race 3: #3 Modern Owl impressed me in his debut. This one got away slowly and then just toyed with the field.
Race 5: #11 Uncle Gare drops just a step and moves to the turf. I always like this move with Servis.
Race 9: #7 Wharton makes his 2nd start off the very long layoff. Should improve soon for Chad Brown.
Race 10: #4 Lucky Empress goes 3rd out, adds blinkers and moves to Mcl.

Kasept 02-06-2013 12:12 PM

#7 Keep the Cash DOES run in the 5th; Thought it read that he SCR'd but it was a rider change..

Kasept 02-06-2013 02:18 PM

A Fernando Jara win almost always guarantees death to multi wagers.. :wf

Conrad 02-06-2013 02:37 PM

GP Race 7:

#2 Jordan's Image is a little underlaid at only 4-1 but i think he could be the one. Even runner stretches to 1m 3rd off the shelf, has the figs to be there all the way, not a whole lot to beat in this field.

My longshot is #6 General Guti at 21-1

EDIT: wow...they go to commercial and when they come back the #2 has dropped to 9-5 !!?? He was 4-1 only 3mins ago

Only 2 singles alive for R6 jackpot, the 9 and 10, Countess Commander and Everyone Loves Me. The 1,2,3,4,5,7 worth $111K each. #Gulf
Also, Pick 5 carryover if anybody but the 1, 2, 7 or 12 win.

Kasept 02-06-2013 03:50 PM

Both Countess Commander & Everyone Love Me have legitimate win shots.. Hell, I put the 10 on all my tickets earlier..

How do you cover for 1.7 million. Evenly bet field too. $10,000 to win on all the rest ? Or just sit & pray.

Its virtually impossible to cover in that instance for many reasons.

If this thing gets over 2.5 million, they are gonna do a forced payout sometime afterwards IMO.

Its within the rules as long as they follow some guidlines.

Why wouldn't they want the jackpot to keep going higher and higher?

Pick 5 carryover of $60,762 tomorrow. :$:

atolunch 02-06-2013 04:21 PM

Great job again on the P4 Steve!

Way to keep the Byk train rolling.

Congrats and thanks as always.:tro::$:

I would think at some point that the betting would become stagnant because getting one ticket would become almost impossible. Look at today for example, $34/$36/$52/$20 and there was MULTIPLE people hitting it with only 2 horses alive to one sole ticket.

Maybe I am wrong

The entire concept of the wager should make betting stagnate, but it doesn't. People who are already ignoring 52% takeout and lottery odds aren't going to be deterred by a few tough sequences being covered.

I hope you're right, because I don't want to wait until closing day to have that shot at a huge mandatory payout pool, but I think the higher the jackpot goes, the better it is for Gulfstream.

MichiganMattA 02-06-2013 04:58 PM

Gotta believe people are playing because of the money that is in the jackpot not what was taken out...

Knowing what was put in today, I am curious what was put in on a Wednesday afternoon lets say 4 or 5 weeks ago...

jms62 02-06-2013 05:01 PM

I would venture to guess that if it wasn't hit today, it isn't going to be hit. More and more money will be coming in and take up more and more combos.

Kasept 02-06-2013 05:21 PM

Tom, Joey..

Doesn't the 'date request' option stem from the situation when they moved the forced distribution away from Easter (or Palm) Sunday so people in silly states that forbid play weren't screwed out of the chance to hit? But this year they close on Friday April 5th so there shouldn't be any conflict should this keep stretching out.
