Though it's still early days as far as drugs go, this could be an extraordinary advancement in laminitis treatment even if it only works for some horses. When you think of who we've lost in just the last few years, it's a little bittersweet.

New drug option that could be available in the next 6 months. Sounds like it could be pretty significant. It doesn't help all horses, just most provided it's given soon enough. The longer you wait, the longer it takes to heal. Currently, places like Rood and Riddle are testing it. Fingers crossed, but so far so good.

Hopefully it will be reasonably priced so that people will be encouraged to use it before it is too late.
