Big Apple Triple Bonus

According to the link a horse must run in all 3 races of the Big Apple Triple to qualify for bonus $$$.
Only one horse ran in all 3 races. Quiet Favorite finishing 4th in the Mike Lee, last in the NY Derby, and 5th in the Albany.

Here's the question.

Should Quiet Favorite, although he won 0 bonus points, be awarded the $25,000 because he was the only horse to run in all 3 races of the Big Apple Triple?

Oh my god.

It seems to me that Quiet Favorite, although he won 0 bonus points, should be awarded the $25,000 because he was the only horse to run in all 3 thereby becoming the only horse to qualify for bonus $$$. Because he's the only horse to qualify for the bonus, he should receive the bonus.

Comments ?

I think they should pay them in bushels of McIntosh apples.

so, we're going to start giving participation awards? no they shouldn't get the bonus.

In this instance, no. But a hefty participation award that say... Could help not **** over the quality of the Travers? I'm in favor of that.

"Horses must run in all three races of the series to qualify for the bonus."

You could look at it this way. All horses participating in the Big Apple Triple Bonus Points have been DQd, save one. Therefore 0 performance points for Quiet Favorite is still higher than a DQ. Quiet Favorite wins the Bonus award.

This has to be an act. Either that or you're retarded. So which is it?

Willy Beamin, first in the Mike Lee, ran in the Albany S. next.

Brigand finished 2nd in the Mike Lee. He then ran 5th in an allowance optional claimer at Del Mar on 7/22 one day after passing on the NY Derby on 7/21.

Night Maneuver, 3rd in the Mike Lee, ran 9th in an allowance optional claimer at Spa on 7/30. The Prize Fighter, 5th in the Mike Lee, ran 7th in the same race on 7/30.

Swag Daddy and Even Got Quiet have not run since the Mike Lee.

By running in all 3 legs of the Big Apple Triple Quiet Favorite is the only horse that qualifies for the Bonus, regardless of points.
