$47 million seems like a bit much for a house in Miami :D

"I hope I am not placed in danger and that my name is not revealed," the informant wrote, adding that Ziadie often killed barn pigeons with a shotgun. "[If] he finds out... he is crazy and capable of killing me or paying someone else to do it for him."

Quote:

Incredibly, state regulators closed their case against Ziadie a few months later when the informant abruptly disappeared.

The way that is written ... it makes it sound like Ziadie did a hit on him.

And now ... for the best part:

Quote:

Presented with specific evidence of doping — including the drug-filled syringes his employee handed over to Calder — Ziadie admits to making "mistakes."

"How many horses have I trained?" he says. "Over a thousand. So to me, [41 positives] is nothing. That's just carelessness."

Then Ziadie becomes defiant, calling the employee who ratted on him a "fag got."

"I didn't want no fag gots working for me, so I fired him."

And he blames his bad reputation on the "enemies" he's made by winning at the track.

"Look at Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant," he says. "Any time you do anything in life and you are successful, they are always going to try to bring you down."

First time Kirk Ziadie off of a trainer change, Kirk Ziadie wins at just over 40% with an ROI in the $2.70's from a sample size of over 300 horses.

You don't consistantly move-up new horses ten to 15 points in weeks if you aren't taking a great big edge.

The Versace Mansion was listed at $125m this summer. Obviously it won't go for that, but it will go for more than the $47m hellhole.

"The bookmaker's favorite is On Appeal, a powerful animal that has won two races at Calder Casino & Race Course in the past month. His advantage is obvious: He's 100 pounds heavier and a hand taller than the smallest horse, a light-brown gelding called Sole Runner. The runt is a 16-1 underdog, for good reason. He has yet to win this year in six attempts."

Paragraphs like this make me question how much horse knowledge that writer has. The damn bookmaker....trying to put one over on us....and obviously if a horse is small he can't run well...

Northern Dancer was on the small side. This has to mean Windfields cheated for him to win all those major race. :D

One of my favorite horses was megahertz. She was roughly the size of donkey.... i don't know how she won all those races.... oh wait it was the drugs..

The smallest serious race horse I've seen up close was BC winner Better Talk Now. With Pee Wee Herman's platform shoes, he might be 15.3.

Dark Mirage I believe, clocked in at 15.1 hands. What a filly.
