The Gang of Six

Nice article in today's local paper. Warner was perhaps the best Gov. this commonwealth has seen, or will see, for a very long time. Too bad that the great majority of Congress is too f*cked up in the head and too indebted to special interests groups to ever support what Warner and company are trying to accomplish.

I'll vouch for that..

He's dealing with congressional leaders whose agendas revolve around the next election and with powerful special interests that are unwilling to surrender an inch of ground for a "grand bargain" to put the country on stable financial footing. Compromises on spending, taxes and entitlement programs are harder to come by in such a tribal setting.
Ain't that the truth...both sides..

Side note..Liz Taylor was married to John Warner,U.S. Senator,VA '79 - '09.
On one of his campaign runs late 70's early 80's he and Liz were at one of the local banks..My wife worked downtown and got a chance to see Liz..I was jealous..:)

Good article. We need to keep electing more like the Gang of 6, willing to compromise.

My Senators are Rand Paul and Mitch McConnell. Sorry KY cannot offer any help at this time.
