Pimlico Special-Preakness Double

Marty McGee just mentioned Mike Gathagan says the Fri-Sat multi-day bet will hook the Pimlico Special -- not the Black-Eyed Susan -- and Preakness..

Nice...............without doing much research thus far, I like Hymn Book to rebound along with Mission Impazible and perhaps pair them with IHA, CC and WTDW. No Bode for me................

I'll be surprised if he wins here. He ran very well at Oaklawn, but he also did it with very, very soft trips that he is not going to get in this race.

Totally agree...................I hope he takes a ton of money though.

When he left OP last spring he came East & won the Peter Pan in a nice performance. He's won a couple different ways in his career, but Hoss is right about his easy trips in the last two races.
He'll likely be overbet, but he's a tough horse for me to figure out. I'd hate to leave him off entirely in the double.

I expect a big effort by Toby's Corner

Black Eyed Susan - Pimlico Special - Preakness Pick 3 would have been nice.

Bodemeister gallops,I'll Have Another will be real close but won't have the pace advantage he had when Bodemeister ran 45 for the half(although 45 at a shorter distance might let Bodemeister hange on)anything close to 46+ and Bodemeister gallops by 5

Valid points for sure and I don't blame you and others a bit for thinking he will gallop. I'm just going with the too many tough races close together and the 2 for 36 stat on Ky Derby 2nd place finishers in the Preakness. He can finish out the exacta or tri but I won't use him on the win end. CC has already beaten him on the square and IHA has better speed than most think.

A few years ago I bet the Special/preakness double
100 DD Bet Eddington/Scrappy T
If I remember correctly The payoff would have been 750.00 for a 2 dollar bet
Well Eddington won, and we all know The GREAT ride Ramon Dominguez gave Scrappy T.

Ahhhhh, If only Afleet Alex did not run that day

Count me in with the people who will not use Bode on top.

I might put him in the 3rd spot or something but I'm just not seeing it here.

Sorry but I think his fans will have to come back down to earth soon enough... when he's just another also-ran.

Will take another look at CC. :)

Good luck with the Creative Cause thing...the horse is a real Munson. Bodemeister will dominate this race. Try to find the price in the Pimlico Special.
