The Golden Slipper

Anyone have thoughts?

Too bad All Too Hard is out.

Looks to be a fantastic day of racing!

Wonder if Precedence will win the BMW and finally pay me back... :D

I can't even function after looking at the field for the George Ryder...

Cannot wait!

Which race(s) are you guys excited about?

I had been very keen on Snitzerland until she was put in her place by Samaready the other weekend.

Samaready will be very difficult to beat, but I do think Snitzerland will give her much more to think about on Saturday. Pierro cannot be ignored either.

Thoughts on the barrier draw?

I love the Slipper, and this is probably my favourite race day on the Australian calendar - so many G1s!

I was so excited about Samaready v All Too Hard, so I'm a bit disappointed the latter is out. I think Samaready's a very worthy favourite.

Wondering about the odds on No Looking Back. 2nd favorite? 3rd?

I think I'm going on sentiment and sticking with Cavalry Rose. I keep coming back to that very green but very nice win of hers.... I just like her so much and yes a deserving favorite who is very very good but I'll try to beat Samaready all the same.

edit -

Think I'll do a tri with both Cavalry Rose and Samaready and use Narcissus, Raceway, and Epaulette underneath. Hate to leave out No Looking Back, Snitzeland, Pierro and Doubtfilly but can't use them all now can we?

(Edit again, switched out Raceway for Doubtfilly. They spent what to supplement her? Makes you wonder...)

Staying away from the George Ryder.I cannot be objective.

Still looking at the BMW...

Samaready & will be a easy win ;)

I'm going with Southern Speed in the BMW.

(Watch. The one time I ignore him Precedence will do well). :wf

Do any of you have picks for the George Ryder? I am sticking to my word and staying far away from that one but I can't wait to watch it.

Good luck everyone.

What the jockeys said - Golden Slipper
07 Apr 2012 | ThoroughbredNEWS News Desk What the jockeys said Group 1 AAMI Golden Slipper (1200m) at Rosehill on Saturday.

1st PIERRO Nash Rawiller As soon as we got into a dogfight I knew he wouldn’t be beaten.

2nd SNITZERLAND Corey Brown I had the easiest run in front. I let her roll from the 400 metres and thought I was the winner.

3rd SAMAREADY Craig Newitt She missed the kick a bit and it probably cost her the race.

4th DOUBTFILLY Damien Oliver I’ve never been on a 100-1 pop that travelled so well.

5th RACEWAY Hugh Bowman He was in the right spot and when we straightened I was really confident but he didn’t go on with the job.

6th DRIEFONTEIN Tommy Berry Her closing sectionals were phenomenal after missing the start.

7th SHELFORD Brett Prebble Lovely horse but he just got too far back.

8th CAVALRY ROSE Christian Reith Toughest filly I’ve ever ridden. A star in the making.

9th AMORINO Steven Arnold Got out sprinted but he’ll be better next time.

10th NO LOOKING BACK Craig Williams I couldn’t have been happier with the position we settled in but she couldn’t get a crack at them when I wanted to. When I got out I didn’t have the horse left. I think she may have felt the track a bit.

11th FAUSTUS Jim Cassidy He had to do too much work.

12th ASHOKAN James McDonald It’s hard to win when you draw 14.

13th NARCISSUS Peter Robl The seven day back-up didn’t suit him.

14th LATER GATOR (NZ) Luke Nolen She went great but probably lacks that class.

15th JADE MARAUDER Glyn Schofield She got back and ran home well.

Last EPAULETTE Kerrin McEvoy He just didn’t fire.
